nurkvinny
If this is possible (which I'm pretty sure it is), what all do I need to hook an outdoor grill into my home's natural gas? Different regulator? Metal lines? I am tired of running out of propane half way through cooking steaks or always wondering how much gas I am turning back in to the store when I get an exchange. So, anyone do this personally? Pics?
koolrayz
Propaine uses a smaller orifice. You could hook it up and go straight up but the burners will be a lot cooler.
BloodRed
I know there is a local company that sells grills that will come out and hook everything up for you. I know a lot of people that do it and it works just fine.

truckin
I've got this setup on my house. Just running a typical Weber stainless grille that had a propane tank.....went to Lowes and got a NG hook up (line and regulater) believe it was like $40. I have a gas line T'd off of my main supply for my furnance and run to where i have it on my back porch. I installed an inline shut off inside the house and another inline shutoff on the porch. Pretty simple.
Clifford Automotive
Vince, I always have 2 tanks in my grill. And I run down to the J for $10 refills.
Avenger1647545502
Would the butyl mercaptan added to natural gas give a bad flavor to the meat?
nurkvinny
Would the butyl mercaptan added to natural gas give a bad flavor to the meat? Does it when you use a gas oven? Natural gas buns a lot cleaner than propane. It's actually better for you, I think.
Trouble Maker
Vince, I always have 2 tanks in my grill. And I run down to the J for $10 refills. I'd assume you have propane at your house? I keep telling my dad to run a line out to his back deck so he doesn't have to fill up tanks.
Clifford Automotive
No, I have 2 tanks on the grill, (one active, one backup) and I take them down to the Flying J on 158 to refill them. Its 10 bucks instead of 20some from an exchange station.
Bam
My aunt did this, just t'd off from her main line in her basement and retrofitted her old existing grill for it, easy peasy from lowes.
