It's pretty hard to brick the new phones, I'd say it's damn near impossible. The G1 and other 1st Gen. android phones had a different process to them, and shit was easier to brick. I dont see any reason for you to do it now either so holding off is not a bad idea.

In the list of messages, longpress on one, hit delete.

Press and hold on message.. delete... thats all it takes for my handcent
