nurkvinny
So, I finally threw the wife's van up on some stands and found her power steering leak. It's leaking out of both boots on the R&P. Can someone find a detailed writeup for this job? I've been looking for a while on-line, and can't find a decent writeup. I have access to the tools, but if this thing is a monster, I don't want to deal with the damn thing / spend a whole day laying on a creeper. Any shops want to give an estimate? Thanks. Thanks. More or less the same as I have found. Threw a bottle of Lucas PS Stop Leak in her tonight; not optimistic about it making any difference. zeitgeist57
My '05 Caravan is doing the same thing, with the added bonus of a noisy PS pump. I guess it is to be expected with 122k miles, but I'd like to avoid this job at all costs as well... Let me know how it goes, Vinny... TurboRust
clay there are a couple tsb's about noise for these vans.. first off the overflow bottle has a screen in it that get clogged drain fluid and clean it) and second the return hose running the ps cooler is too small and needs upsized one bigger(7/16" from 3/8" maybe..i forget)

In our case, it only gets loud when the level gets low (imagine that). Clay, I am sure - like everything else that breaks - I will try the fix myself. I think I am just going to take the approach of taking "extra" things out my way to make God's plenty of room. I only get frustrated when trying to do car brain surgery through a 1/2" opening. zeitgeist57
If you want to "learn" on your van and then do it on my van, that's cool. Why do we both need to learn to do this jerb?

The only part that has me worried is getting the pin out that holds the shaft to the rack and pinion. We'll see...
