John Bruh
i want a fullsize 1911. Idk about the newer kimbers, but mine took every bit of 500 rounds to break in.

RC K9
On Sale at Vances...$679.99. I think Kimbers are overpriced and in general there are better options for the kind of money you will usually spend on a Kimber but on sale it was only $100 more than the Para I was looking at and I believe Kimber is a superior company to Para... cinergi
He is correct, the newer ones are a bitch to break in, which is why I suggested Clenzoil and not taking it apart for the first 150-200 rounds. The older models had more hand refinements and thus were more reliable and accurate. When I say older, 7-8 years. On Sale at Vances...$679.99. I think Kimbers are overpriced and in general there are better options for the kind of money you will usually spend on a Kimber but on sale it was only $100 more than the Para I was looking at and I believe Kimber is a superior company to Para... nonetheless, great gun. I urge you to heed my advice about those magazines, though. Trust me, I would not steer you wrong in terms of a defensive weapon. Let's put it this way.... I personally never witnessed anyone with a Kimber win a competition with stock mags. Look at the follower design. POS that throws the round out of the magazine whichever way it bounces. without a polished chamber, this is BAD. Even with one, it is not great. The design sucks and puts people who don't know in grave danger. Promag, CM, Novak or Wilson Combat make great ones that work when it matters. FTF sucks when you have a nice gun, especially when it can easily be prevented.
cinergi
Also using ball or critical defense will help jamming issues until you can swap mags.
RC K9
Thanks for the advice. hopefully I can get some wilson mags this weekend at vances. I will just return the spare kimber one I bought towards a wilson. Why Cleanzoil? What do you think about Hoppes No. 9? That's all I have used on all of my guns and never had any issues with it. Also, the instructions say to disassemble and clean before I shoot it for the first time. Are you saying not to do this, but put 200 rounds through it and THEN clean it? cinergi
I would be more than happy to talk to anyone who has questions. I should sit down and write some material from my experiences, but right now time and I are not friends. Be more than happy to chat via phone or in person if the interest is there and I can get some free time. Ryan, glad I could help.

I put 200 through and had at least 1 jam EVERY clip. Probably try to put another 200-300 through it this weekend. I cant be having jams if it's going to be my primary. oh8sti
more than likely its you causing the jam. I know its crazy, but i have had loads of friends complain about their guns jamming but ultimately being the way they hold it.
RC K9
i'm not limp wristing it if that's what you mean. Sometime when I put a fresh mag in and pull the slide back and release it to load one in the chamber it will jam the 1st round I am trying to load.
