Threaded Barrels?

Anyone have one?

Found this website awhile back...and thinking about it again.

http://www.storm-lake.com/products/barrel#top

I have an M&P 40c, but it seems that I could buy a conversion barrel for 9mm that's threaded and with the correct 9mm magazines, I could have a single handgun that can shoot 9mm and .40, with the bonus of being able to suppress the 9mm because the barrel is threaded.

Am I correct? How 'quiet' can 9mm rounds being with a suppressor and subsonic rounds?

Just curious, this is purely a 'because I can' type of thing, but I like it.

The sound will be closer to what a .22 pistol sounds like, that is to say perfectly comfortable without hearing protection but not by a whole lot. Of course it won't fit your holster anymore and it's heavier to handle, but I'd do it if I had the money.

I have a couple holsters and one of them is open at the end, so it'd fit with that one, as I'm assuming only the threads stick past the slide? Like an inch max?

Anyone know of good suppressors and what they typically run? I know I'll need a stamp or whatever, but I don't plan to ever sell my m&p so not too concerned with the cost.

A good one can run 600-1000 and the tax stamp(I think thats what it is) is around 200, if I remember correctly. I also believe you have to have a class 3 to buy them. I might be way off. I looked into this a while back and it seemed like a hot load of money and hoop jumping to get one.

All you need is the tax stamp which is $200, there isn't a class 3 license or anything for buying NFA items.
