Trouble Maker
Detailed info from the VIN... I think. http://www.compnine.com/vid.php?vin=1J4GL48KX3W718251 It's a Sport. As far as I can tell from the above link it's the 3.7L 4 Speed Auto and "Command-Trac" 4WD system. Anything good or bad to say about them? Note: We might be given this by my in-laws and it's newer, nicer and much lower mileage than either of our daily's. I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I just want to make sure we aren't getting something with known issues. They could always sell the car if it won't work for us. AWW$HEEET
mini van motor. i didn't like the front seats in those when i test drove one either, but since its free, what the hell.
Not Brian
I thought only lesbians drove those but since its free, what the hell.
Trouble Maker
Ya, we will see what they decide. We got an email from her mom making it sound like they were getting rid of it, then an email with the details about the car from her dad with him saying he wasn't 100% on getting rid of it and it's 'his' car. I just wanted to make sure we weren't going to get a time bomb, something that has known reliability issues with major systems that cost $$$$; motor, trans, 4WD system. Our cars now are fine. I'd love to have something that I can just throw the bike in the back or sleep in the back of without feeling like I'm in a coffin.

copperhead
So have it as a winter/utility/spare vehicle if you have worries about it. Then if it explodes on the highway you can leave it and not care
Skinner
should be a good DD worst case is may need a tuneup and or regular maintenance (change out fluids). put a lift on it IIRC the most you can do is 2.5" but they look nice with lifts http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a256/Prospect62/2002%20KJ/SANY0124.jpg here is the wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Liberty
Trouble Maker
So have it as a winter/utility/spare vehicle if you have worries about it. Then if it explodes on the highway you can leave it and not care If they offer and it if we take it I don't want 3 'dailys' and everything that entails. We would sell my current daily since it has the most miles on it and is the oldest, she would drive the jeep since my commute is 37 miles and her's is 4 and I would drive her current car since the MPG is much better. Plus if we had three DDs, once we get a house we would have to park it out on the street and have our neighbors call the cops on us. :gabe:
BloodRed
Ok vehicles if you take care of them. MPG is not the best and the 3.7 is a dog. But for a DD it would be fine and will do pretty good in bad weather and snow.
schmuckingham
I wanted the diesel one for a long while. My sister had one and it was great, only thing is the common Chrysler HVAC controls only working on high. Oh and the sunroofs if it had them tend to go out and need replaced
Sturg1647545502
I've heard not so great things about them plus poor gas millage for a DD...but if its free fuck it and lez out

Trouble Maker
yeah Lulz, I bought the part when I first got that car, ~2.5 years ago and it's still sitting in my basement. Who needs the lowest 2 speeds? :lolguy:
