Berto
I've been eyeballing the Nikon 10-24mm lens for some wide angle shots. I feel like i've missed some great shots because of my 18mm limit. But the lens is $900 :-/ anyone played around with the screw on fisheye adaptors? Any recomendations on a good one? Any articles showing comparisons? http://www.amazon.com/Panoramic-Fisheye-Digital-Cameras-Lenses/dp/B002GJIZ3M/ref=sr_1_6?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1315267171&sr=1-

I would say unless you're going to focus on wide angle shots you might be best putting the money towards a top quality lens you'll use every day. In terms of expensive, welcome to Nikon. Canon's edge definitely shines through here What type of shooting do you plan on doing most? What % What next and what % What specialty do you want to target next? How often per month? Here's a good review of the lens you're asking about: http://www.slrgear.com/reviews/showproduct.php/product/1262/cat/13 Another: http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-aps-c-lens-tests/443-nikkor_1024_3545
mrs.cos
Do yourself a favor and rent it one weekend and see how you feel about it. Im sure if MPEX or CCG doesnt have it for rent, one of the other Online rental places has it for rent. I would love to have one, but its defintly down far on the list of needs for my camera bag. I love the 16mm Wide angle i rent form MPEX fairly often but its a huge chunk of change
1fynz
I bought a sigma 10-20mm for my canon mainly for moving car rig shots, but honestly I can't say that it has been worth it beyond that. Even at half the cost I always consider selling it. I'm with Tim, maybe invest in a nice, fast piece of glass. It can give a cool perspective on things, and can really add a contemporary, dramatic feel to a photo, but it can also ruin a good photo with distortion, especially when you start using it with people in the picture. Tractor
Yeah, as stated it will depend on what your wanting to shoot. If its just the occasional shot that you can't get then get back further or if you can't then maybe you could pick up an older Nikon full frame body for those shots. Then your current lenses would be 50% wider by default. You asked about wide angle adapters. You can use one of those and they do work, but they can also degrade the image quality and if try to zoom it will cause a really neat edge distortion effect which can cool nice, but is a problem if you needed to zoom. Miller
I know I was very pleased with my wide angle lens for my video camera. It made taping while driving a much better experience.
Berto
I just REALLY like big landscape shots. Today we were in a canyon, i couldn't take a few steps back but I couldn't capture everything I wanted. I really feel like I missed out. dakotart
Another option is to just use software to generate a panorama image.
Berto
Another option is to just use software to generate a panorama image. I have elements 9 but the panorama as far as i know can only be stiched in 1 axis....and also require a tripod. which sometimes in some spots just can't happen

HOwever, Pano's still won't take the place of a wide field of view. Sounds like you might be best to invest if that's where you plan to do a lot of shooting. Yasser-Hanbali
wide angle lens's are great for shooting certain things. i want to pick one up to shoot cars as they make for great interior and engine bay shots!
Berto
I am getting close and closer with terms of just buying the Nikon 10-24mm lens. http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-10-24mm-3-5-4-5G-Nikkor-Wide-Angle/dp/B0026FCKC8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315522880&sr=8-1 Seen some reviews on the Sigma 10-20mm any bad personal experiences with 3rd party lenses? Its half the price of the Nikon. Although I keep hearing, don't cheap out on lenses. Camera bodies come and go, but your lenses never go out of style! IIRC the Sigma has been known for bad Chroma though. Check that. I believe it's on the wide end too which would be sad. There are a couple Sigma primes in Canon that are decent and their latest high end 70-200 IS is very nice and one I would own.
Berto
http://www.esfotoclix.com/tech/nik10sig10/ Here is a good comparison between the two. I personally don't see much of a difference but I've seen some complaints where some Sigma's were good and others were built bad, quality control issues. :-/
