Trouble Maker
I've always heard the steaks in Japan aren't very good, and very expensive. You're probably better off getting an american steak.

Egg Yolk Sauce > *... I work off of Tuttle and went to House of Japan for lunch and had the "awesome" egg yolk sauce. Holy fucking toilet abuse.......fuck that. Putty
If this is the same as the one at Polaris, then I agree. Egg Yolk Sauce > *... It's not. House of Japan is on Tuttle and Polaris. The one on High is just called. "The Japanese steakhouse". Recently I have been eating at Sukura on Morse, by Walmart. Damn damn good. Soup, salad and vegetables for lunch. HOJ only does that for dinner.

It is nice and cheap, but the dressing on the salad wasn't the normal ginger dressing, it tasted like it was a mixture of thousand island and ranch, not a fan. other than the sauces, i would say this place is on par with all the rest of the good places around polaris/easton/sawmill. I would say Genji's is the best overall in all of columbus. whatever you do, stay away from fujiayama or whatever it is at cleveland and morse rd. Akula
I went to Japan and ate Japanese Steak, it wasn't good. True Story. I think you are looking for that Teppenyaki style steakhouse. Flat grill, onion volcano, the one downtown is good.

I only go to these places when someone else wants to go. The food is not really that good, just full of salt if that's your thing. The only draw for me to go to these places is the hope that one of those fools will catch themselves on fire. Don't call one of these places a Japanese steak house in front of a Japanese person unless you want to offend them.

TimTaylor751647545500
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that place is a shit hole!!! You have to look passed the VERY dated decor, because their food IMO is better and priced better than any of the other Japanese steak houses in the area. Sukura's food isn't as good and Kobe is higher priced and house of japan is too far from my place. I've been going to Fujiyama for years and have never had a bad food experience there. RedRocket1647545505
I love me some House of Japan. I need to try the egg yolk sauce. I wasn't impressed with Genjis at all. The only one I've tried was on Hamilton rd, though. The food in general makes me shit my brains out though. It's always a looooong ride home from Tuttle... jeffro
I will agree with gerg that the fujiyama off cleveland and 161 is a shithole. the ceiling is black and discolored. the walls are dirty and dusty, and the overall atmostphere is kinda outdated. I do however, love me some teriyaki chicken. If you can see past the dingyness, youll have a good experience.
