iluvfastcarz
I purchased an 01 Chevy 2500 today and already having problems with it. It wont rev past 2000 rpm, but it does rev fine at idle. I don't smell any diesel in the oil and it purrs like a kitten at idle all the way up to 2000 rpm. These are the codes that I am getting: P0087 Fuel Pressure Too Low at rail P0089 Fuel Pressure Regulator Performance P0093 Fuel System Leak P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature (high voltage) Can anyone help me? Rocky31186
Is it modded at all? Or was modded before you bought it?
iluvfastcarz
No it seems all stock. I am hoping it isn't the injection pump or the injectors. It seems to run so smooth at idle and all the way up to 2k rpm. I have been doing some research and might do the fprv shim to see if that helps. iluvfastcarz
I bought it at a dealer auction with absolutely no warranty.
John Bruh
I bought it at a dealer auction with absolutely no warranty. Everyone always thinks they can get a good deal at the sale. That's why you buy green light.
XChris1632X
Have you checked the fuel filter? Common fixes for this are tue fuel filter and fprv. If fuel pressure doesn't read high enough the truck will go into a fuel system limp mode, for ease of explanation. If you need anymore help with this issue pm me. After you get this fixed, I have a built trans with ATS internals sitting here that just went up for sale with co pilot.
iluvfastcarz
Everyone always thinks they can get a good deal at the sale. That's why you buy green light. I am a dealer so that is part of the game. Everything I buy is risky even if it has a green light on it. I am going to shim the fprv and change the fuel filter. Can Columbus diesel rebuild the injection pump and maybe clean and check fuel flow on the injectors?

I'm willing to bet your injectors are fine. CDS can do just about anything but if you are trying to fix and sell I would buy a used injection pump and send it on its way. that is if it is an IP issue in the first place. Chances are its not but it isn't uncommon either. I wouldn't dump the money on CDS rebuilding it for sure. They do great work but they arent cheap. dakotart
My uncle has a 2005 and his was a a fuel pressure release valve. He thinks it was on the passenger side fuel rail. Looks like a bolt. He said that there are a couple of cheaper performance bolts. He took his out and welded the pin hole shut. He also said that the new valve is was $300 and the performance race valves are solid (no spring/pin hole)

AJ
on the LB7 dirtys they are very picky about the fuel filter. you are supposed to change it every 14k on the 01-04.5 engines. also you are supposed to change the spin on red transmission filter every 7k. iluvfastcarz
How can I check if there is a chip installed?
GSXRAntwon
My thoughts, 100% fuel filter. My truck (03' LB7) did the same thing, wouldnt go past 2000RPM on the way back from getting it in Texas. Replaced the fuel filter, BAM runs perfect
dakotart
How can I check if there is a chip installed? It was probably removed before auction. I think my to install the one on my uncles, you unplugged the ECU and then plugged that harness into the "chip", then plugged that back into the ECU.
