What year is this bike? I may have some parts if you are interested in buying a parts bike for this....

Bolt on hard tail

S&S Carb

Peanut tank

etc...

Its an 87. What size is the s&s? Its got a mikuni 45mm on it and I think its a little much for the setup (atleast thats what Ive been told). If you have a pic of the hard tail and tank Id like to see it, Im not too familiar with these things so Im not sure what it looks like. Im also looking for front brakes (which he said are form a dyna), a brake lever, smaller aftermarket turn signals, a big ass head light, solo seat, and possibly wheels. Let me know what you got.

I have a solo seat too, wheels are spoked but taken apart, i have no turn signals, i have a brake lever but it may not be what you are looking for. Ill get some pics of it all. Probably wont all work since the main changeover for these was in 84-85 when they went from the ironhead to whatever it is now.

the bike i have is a 77, so some may still work. we'll see.

So the other night I started to clean up some wiring and resplicing some of the previous owners "repairs". Then tonight i sanded down some more pieces to prep for paint and got the first coat on the tank but, ran out of paint. Ill get pics up soon when its finished. I also picked up a repair manual tonight so I can get some more of the wiring figured out and get things torqued properly when going back together. And I think ive figured out my lighting hardware for the turn signals and headlight, just got to get the funding together. Hopefully have more updates soon. The plan is still to have it on the road by the end of the month if things keep moving along like they are.

So i failed at pics again but, I got one exhaust pipe wrapped and the rear fender and tank have a decent coat of paint but, Ill probably wet sand and do another since they came out a little rougher than I would have liked. But, now Im wondering if I should keep them rough to maintain the ratty look I was originally going for. I also picked up new exhaust gaskets, oil change stuff, a primary cover gasket, and some mounting hardware for the gas tank and oil tank.

The paint looks kinda rough but, Im ok with it for now. This is more of a "feeler" for me anyways so If I still like the colors by next winter I plan to take everything off and have a body guy do them the right way.

Looking good, Im sure you are getting the itch to start riding it.

Yeah, I started it up today to run for a little bit and it sounds GREAT but, I think the alternator is bad cause it wont stay running after I take the battery charger off. Ill look into that more tomorrow after cleaning all this flood water out of the garage. :fuuuu:
