Not Brian
past 4-5 years I slowly hated having a winter beater and a summer-only car. Making payments on something nice that can do nothing but sit in the garage wore ate my soul.

Miller
cherokee? I wish. I drive a lot and the jeep in my range get awful gas mileage. They didn't start the improved fuel system. Too much for too little.
Fiji ST
You can get a brand new Mustang V6 with the Performance Package for around $25k. Six-speed and 30 mpg.

Mr. Jones
that's why I asked.. I guess I don't know what an srt8 is. SRT8 can be used to describe any number of hugely overweight and slow vehicles: 300C SRT8 Charger SRT8 Magnum SRT8 Cherokee SRT8 Challenger SRT8

acklac7
maybe split that money in half for each one? +1 Exactly what I would do. However I would split it between these: International Scout II - http://4wheeldrive.about.com/library/uc/ucgraphics/amunoz.jpg And http://www.dragtimes.com/images/15155-1993-Lexus-SC300.jpg Quick, absurdly reliable, and (although rare) came stock with a manual. Biggest problem would be with rust, i'd get one from the South (as I did). Best part is they are more-or-less considered classics now, and will at the very least hold there value as the years go by. Lots of aftermarket support too.

I keep thinking how bad I want an 03 Cobra but I would feel like a bag of dicks putting that car through snow/salt. I really want one though. Not Brian
I asked Doc for advice on a <$20k dd before picking the the tbss. He said he wouldn't spend nearly that much.. of all the cars he's aware of, 90's Buicks are some of the most comfortable and reliable ones on the road. they're all fwd and automatic, but Doc's advice is probably worth considering before looking further. AudiOn19s
These threads always entertain me, everyone has their own preference on what best fits...it's cool for a variety of opinions and an entertaining thread but I always wonder how much of a benefit it really is to the OP. In my opinion, E46 M3 is the best all around car in that price range that is manual, decent on gas, practicality to be a DD and a nice car all at the same time.
