F-150's do that a lot when the ball joints are try because they don't have grease fittings. I'd say it's a much better chance at being a ball joint if it is doing it when shaking the car. If they do not have grease fitting, they make a needle to inject grease. Just because it is dry doesn't mean that it is worn out but it will wear faster if it doesn't get greased.

Yeah, my bad, I edited. Still the SH's never had them.

 

True about the SH not having them. I only commented because the question was asked why would you turn your rear wheels. I was certain that I remember doing an alignment on a 1997 way back in '97 and that is how I knew about them. I'm glad I double checked myself before posting that they were available here untill '01. lol
