C7 Vette details..

I would love to hear more about this... LS3s? LS7s? Dropped valves? What is happening to all of them???

Fortunately I won't be needing to worry about my LS7 dropping a valve. ;)

Usually LS6 cars as they are the most popular track rats hence the ones that blow up the most but I've seen blown up LS7, LS1, LS3 as well. I'm not saying other cars are immune just saying I see ALOT lf blown up 'vette's.

Don't know the root cause but generally it's scattered lower ends that I've seen, not sure if that's the result of a top end failure first or what.

My bro has (had) a 00 FRC C5 and he lost his motor twice in the past year.....once after an autocross, second time on track at Mid Ohio.....

You talking about Dax in that pewter C5?

I saw it out at Autox tihs year? Must have happened later in the year when I wasn't out much. That sucks ass.

Yeah, he was at one of the last track days at MO with PCA and motor just died going into T7.....no sudden kaboom or anything, motor just shut off and he thought it was the alternator.....ended up being worse.

Good news is, he convinced the wife that he needs a GT3 now :lolguy:

I've heard of more than a few LS7's doing that...

After looking through the configuration options, the seats still don't look up to snuff, they look like they are made for fat American asses. Hopefully they are nicer in person..

They have two seat options, hopefully one of them is decent...

Yes I have been following the situation. Less than 1% have had problems by all accounts.

The interesting tidbit/rumor is that the LS7 is now going to go into the Camaro. Maybe a Z/28 variant? So is GM doing something to "fix" this elusive valve problem? Will they finally address it for current LS7 owners?

Either way I am not taking my chances. Bulletproofing my engine is underway.

Now back to the C7 discussion...

I agree with the comments pointing to the C7 being a bunch of "fast things" designs smashed together.

- Exhaust looks like they took the C6 exhaust and "ferrari 458-ed" it together

- Hood/front grille proportions remind me of a fatter, longer Lotus Elise with the middle placement of the plastic hood vent

- Under-grille lip looks ripped off an Aventador

- Headlights ripped off F12 Berlinetta

- Taillights off Camaro/cross-eyed Decepticon

- Corvette logo on wheels looks like Mazda logo from any distance farther than 10 feet

- What's with the scaffolding keeping the passenger from being able to touch the center stack?

This might all have been said in this thread, these were just the comments being tossed around the office today.

Both the Touring and Sport seats have very similar seat bases, which are pretty much flat. The Sport seat seems to have more aggressive shoulder bolstering and I more interesting head rest, but that's about it.

I see what people are referring to, but it's also easy to see that many of these design elements are an evolution of the Corvette design, including the Centennial concept from a few years ago.

Yes, very curious to hear what they plan to do with it in the Camaro since that is a sure thing now.

Where is your build thread? :p

Are you looking at the computer images of the interior or the actual photos?

The seats appear very different and more bolstering than before in the actual photos (non-computer images).

I was Hoping it would have more power than what it has.. 450hp is weak sauce for a 60+k sports car. Was expecting it to almost beat out the ls7 with all the re-designed engine. Kinda like how the c6 almost beat out the c5z. Once released I'm excited to see all the corvette shops race for the fastest c7..
