Need an upgrade

I currently have a 20D and would like to upgrade to a 40D. seems like i can sell mine for $200 and pick up a 40D for about $300. my question is, is it safe to buy a camera from ebay? do i need to worry about shutter clicks or anything else?

I'd go for a 50D at least. Love my 40D but for the money get the 50D so you can microadjust lenses. They also had lower shutter issues. Although I wouldn't expect many of the ones impacted (small number) to still be out there unfixed.

 

Otherwise, solid camera. I use mine to this day.
