We are bitching about people vehicle lighting, I highly dislike people that just run their daytime running lights all the time. Even at night. Yes you can see in front of you, but it makes it very difficult to see you when I am coming up behind you. The Opel Insignia has had a similar system in Europe for a few years now. The headlight has something like 8 or 9 different configurations. The most recent development has been adding the vehicle tracking information from the forward camera or radar in order to continue to black out a certain region.
