fas1k
Go with a spec stage 3. Holds a good amount of torque and has a fairly stock feel. Make sure it's the 3 and 3+ though. Reasonably priced as well. Cool thanks!
lilmiller74
Get the spec 3+, i had it in my camaro and vette and love it.
99ta
go with 390s over 410s as well. I think 410 is too much for that much power esp on the street.

There was a certain similar colored Z on here that ran 3.90's and it ran like a champ.

99ta
How is it too much? just my opinion man. et streets with 410s on a 10 bolt is bad news anyway. http://www.f-body.org/gears/ theres a very good chance with a 150 shot he will have to shift into fifth in the 1/4 as well.... fas1k
The car will prolly never see the track, more for the street. So I guess I need to consider what's feasible for street use.

fas1k
Cars got a new stock clutch, and slave. Previous woman (elder lady) just had it done. So I have not experienced any pedal fade or sticking. "Knock on wood". What is the average price for someone to set the gears up. I've never done that part, I've replaced spider gears and axles but never had to mess with the shims. Just wondering if its more economical to put that money towards a 9" in the future and just rock the 3.42's for now.
99ta
You will have about $500 in gears if you have a shop do it.

I'd say it's more economical to just keep the 10 bolt unless you come across a crazy deal on a 9" or 12 bolt.

gillbot
You will have about $500 in gears if you have a shop do it. Doesn't sound too bad! it is bad if you compare that to the ~$1200 deals you can find on used 12 bolts on LS1tech if you are patient.
