zeitgeist57
Up in Cleveland, my parents go to the Coast Guard Exchange for some cheap items. I did not serve in the military, but is there a military exchange here in Columbus, and does anyone shop there? Thanks!
XChris1632X
What are you looking for. I come across a lot of stuff my base gets rid of or I have that they don't want back.
adamgh81
There is a very small shopette at DSCC and a normal sized shopette at Rickenbacker. Both sell booze and other convience store items. I do stop there for booze occasionally (tax free) but that's about it. No real BX/PX around Columbus.
Scotty2Hotty
There is Surplus World, it's ok.
Tractor
Gov liquidation website, lockbourne and DSCC put out a lot of personnel gear and electronics if your looking for that type of stuff. You might end up with one thousand uniforms but it will cost the same as one at a surplus store.
Mojoe
What's posted above is all good to know. PX/BX, shopette, and clothing sales all seem to have gotten away from what they were good for. It's usually cheaper online, and available. Too many wasted visits, only to find out they don't have what you're looking for. Pricing on electronics and many other home items seems to be higher than out in town. Ever Clear is the only deal I have seen in quite some time. They do have the neat giftbox's with liquir around the holidays. Clay, if you want to come and look, let me know, we can meet for lunch and you can check it out. greg1647545532
There are really only two things I find are worth buying at the BX -- booze and price-fixed electronics like game consoles that you can at least get tax-free. Everything else is generally cheaper at Wal-Mart. I rarely go to the shoppette at Rickenbacker, but now that I'm drilling at Wright-Pat I do occasionally shop at the class-6 there. If you're looking for something specific I can grab it next month when I go back.
