Next week I'm headed to Vegas for Ford's 50th birthday party for the Mustang. This will be my first official trip there since I was a kid. Were staying at the Plaza Hotel right in front of Fremont st which looks to be a great location.

So far aside from the festivities at the track I've booked some seat time in a 458 Italia at Exotics Racing, and considering the Sky Jump on the Stratosphere. Would love to do the Battlefield Las Vegas but the budget is going fast and I'm not even there yet lol.

What are the good places to go and things to see?? What should I stay away from?? Any advice is welcome.

Casinos are better off strip. I tend to frequent the stations casinos off strip. Fremont experience is cool for your first time. You can always hit up the TV show places like gold and silver pawn shop, ricks restorations and counts customs.

You have any favorite games... Casino Royale gives the most odds at the craps table on the strip.

Hoover dam is a pretty short drive. Mead Lake is beautuful

Have fun

Rhino added to the list!! Figure I should check out at least 1 good club while there.

I've always wanted to try craps, will have to look into Casino Royale, just so much to do so little time. Hoover Dam is on the way to and from so I'll be hitting that up on the way home likely, were also going to visit some famous junkyard on the way back as well.

I'm not even there yet and can see every penny of the budget accounted for lol, oh well, not very often I do this, thanx for the advice!

I will be on that track in June, in the Maclaren. Though, I'm may change it after watching many vids. I'm not sure I will enjoy a paddle car. Although, given their inventory, that leaves me very few cars to choose from if I don't go with a paddle car. First world problems.

From the replies so far, I don't think you could use any of my advice or local connections. :)

One thing, get off of Fremont street and down to the strip. It will look 100x different than the last time you saw it, and have 100x more attractive people to look at.

If you are looking for the over 40' with the wife type of experience, make sure you see a show (look for a deal on tickets before you land) and eat one REALLY good meal there. Its the most highly concentrated are of 5 star restaurants on this side of the planet, and depending on the year, the world. Take advantage.

Also-go to the LINQ, and right the tallest Ferris wheel on the planet. You may be the first on CR to do so :)

Joe, all of their cars have flappy paddles which sucks but I can understand why.

JP, though I'm staying at the Plaza I plan on being there to sleep only pretty much. Ample strip time planned. I'm single and damn good looking so attractive single women are what I'm after. Do plan on a fancy meal or 2, had lots of suggestions there and the hard part is deciding which one. I saw they just opened that new Ferris wheel, it's in the agenda also.

I purchased in-car video for the Italia laps and will get video of my jump also, will have ample pics to share when I get back. Thanks for all the advice everyone and keep it coming if you think of anything.

My ex would travel to Vegas and work there a few weeks a year and come home with $10k in her thong.

With what I hear they charge I can believe it. Friend of mine who frequents Vegas says the place is top notch, but even with his deep pockets shudders at what he's spent in there.

Single guy-it’s all about pool parties and Dat club life.

If skipping lines, (cheap) bottles and F’in models is your thing, send me a PM I will get you connected.
