They were going to donate it to volenteers of America. I asked how much they wanted for it and after having my offer of $1000.00 TALKED DOWN TO $500.00 by her mother I now own a 1996 Ford Taurus GL with 81k miles. A beater to me is a car with high miles that probably would be a danger to the world if you took on the freeway and cops would put you in jail for putting a child in. A car that you don't care if it snaps in half or your buddy gets drunk and drives it into a lake.. That's a beater lol And a Prius, new or used they are all beaters.
