1988 Nissan 300zx Shiro Special (SS) Edition. 1 of 1002 imported to the United States.

So far had to fix minor wiring issue. Now I'm waiting for some trim pieces so I can put door panels back on. Since Nissan don't make the parts I'm looking for any longer, it might take longer to have this thing put together than I thought.

Some pics taken earlier today.

Yeah I will bring it out after it's pieced back together. I found a guy parting his out and the parts should be here tomorrow or Tuesday. Hopefully it's the right ones and not all dry rotted. Those tags are actually from the corvette I had. I will be going to the BMV tomorrow to get title done and it's own historic tags!

Oh and you guys should see me around the forum more often now.

There is no such thing as a minor wiring issue in a z31. Miss my old car but god dam what a pain in the ass.

Yeah I expanded searches after not finding one I wanted to c3 corvette and z31 and this gem shows up! I'm pretty glad it worked out the way it did. I did get my parts in today so hopefully I can have it back together soon. Next up is the frustrating part of finding correct nuts and bolts...

What makes it special besides the name?

Adjustable shocks - I think, different lsd.

Hold on:

Here ya go. Straight from wiki:

In 1988, the turbocharged Shiro Special debuted with pearl white paint, stiffer springs and matched shocks, heavy-duty anti-sway bars, a unique front air dam, paint matched wheels, Recaro seats with matching door panels, painted bumperettes, white painted doorhandles and a viscous limited-slip differential. No options were available for the Shiro, meaning all Shiros were identical. It was the fastest car out of Japan, capable of 153 mph (246 km/h) speeds, as tested by Motor Trend with the electronic speed limiter disabled.[5] A total of 1002 Shiro Special Z31s were produced for the US market between January and March 1988.

I could swear it had adjustable suspension settings like TEMS on my Supra. Have to wait for Alex to pop back in.

It doesn't have adjustable. It had beefed up suspension that's different from other z's. Adjustable was available on turbo models as option. All the adjustable this and that and auto climate control stuff was taken out to reduce weight. It was the lightest model available. It was Nissan's way of "going back to basics."

I'm liking this car more and more :thumbup:
