Popular Post bagchi.3
Hi Everyone, My name is Gautam, yup just like the city.. I have a Nissan 300zx twin turbo that I bought off my younger brother less than a year ago and am currently restoring it. Its pretty much stock other than air filter and being over boosted. My brother loved it but also abused the crap out of it. It could use a bunch of stuff, but has a blown head that could be more once I get into it. I moved to Cbus 17 years ago to go to OSU for Engineering but am originally from NW Ohio. Currently I'm an engineer at Honda and have always worked on my own cars (Honda, BMW and Hyundai) but this will be a very big challenge for me and will definitely push me out of my comfort zone as i've never actually gotten into an engine let alone worked on turbo's. I am a single parent and have two boys 3 and 7 that I spend a lot of time with. I also homebrew a little and am a active member of SODZ, the Columbus homebrew club. Im looking to get the Z's engine fixed and then redo the interior as well as paint the car. I want to use the car as a fun car and maybe take it to the track and also try autocrossing it, but am looking for people with more experience with turbos and Nissan's to help me restore it successfully. http://i.imgur.com/yZCl6xa.jpg?1 Edited April 28, 2015 by bagchi.3

99StockGT
What options came on the car and what's still working? Keeping/fixing everything? As an owner of another Japanese "Super Car" I know there are a lot of things which end up falling by the wayside or just being "deleted" for ease of repair... and sanity. Welcome and looking forward to seeing it moving!
bagchi.3
I'm not sure whats not working as the car hasn't been driven and starter is dead. Need to take the head off to see the inside condition, hopefully just a gasket and machine head. I debated on a new engine or a JDM one but decided to do the head myself to learn the ins and out as this car will be with me forever and I need to get to know her better. Its a twin manual but the turbos need rebuilt. I could use a lot of other stuff but ill start with the engine first and go from there. It has the electric suspension, but not sure if it works.
