lol. Between the plywood and the switch/box/power cord, i have about $20 in it. For a 12" disc sander you cant even get close to that, even for a used one. Id rather do it myself and make it the way i want/need it.

I read that the 1/3 hp motor might be underpowered for this application, but i have zero problems with it bogging down under load.

Did you vent the box so the motor won't get hot?

+1. Is the back left open? That will get loaded with sawdust otherwise. Pretty cool though, I've been looking for a motor to do the same thing.

I was thinking a small cooling fan. At first I thought an exhaust fan, but that would pull dust into the box. If you had an intake fan the air would exhaust out the front around the sanding disk and move the air away from the inside of the box. I wonder if you could get away with mounting blades/fins on the sanding disk and moving air out the front with the motion you are already making. If you can do that all you would need is some vent holes in the back to let clean air in.

Hey just poppin in, haven't sifted though the last 8 pages, so I don't know if this has been discussed...

Where is a good place to get hardwood? I checked out Capacity Millwork, but haven't gone any where else, or compared prices. Just curious as to where everyone shops?

Thanks. Just an outdoor patio table. We have some chairs and a day bed or whatever you call it. Like a couch with a twin mattress and a bunch of outdoor pillows. We never have anywhere to set our drinks or to put food to eat out there though, so I built this so we could eat, drink, smoke cigars, whatever out there. The compartment below is nice because it provides a place to put all the pillows when we aren't out there, and the wheels make it easy to move the table, (it is heavy).

Cutout Template for a sheet of plywood. This design is based on a 1/2" plywood. Its small enough that i doubt anything thicker would be necessary. Its too bad you cannot get 5X5 sheets here in the states. That would have been perfect to minimize scrap.

I have been working on several things, some are bonafide builds while some are repurposing.

Here is a repurposed piece I made. I found the piece on a street ready to go to the dump. Picked it up and spent 20 bucks on some supplies.
