bmwohio
TL;DR Riding in an awesome charity bike ride that raises millions and millions of dollars for cancer research that could save mine, yours, a friend, or family member one day. You can donate here --> http://www.pelotonia.org/kbushmeyer It's that time of year again, and I will be riding for my 4th year in Pelotonia 2016. For those that don't know what Pelotonia is, it is a charity bike ride that has been raising money for cancer research since 2008. To date they have raised over $109 million dollars! If you are not familiar with it, it is a pretty amazing ride and experience. For those of you that have donated in the past years, THANK YOU! Last year I had the honor to ride with a family friend who is STILL battling Stage 3/4 cancer in different parts of his body. He rode the 100 miles with me last year and will be riding again (God willing) with me again this year. *At the end of last year's 100 mile ride together* *Crossing the finish last year* (Averaged almost 17mph for the ride) I am posting this message because this will be my 4th year riding in Pelotonia, and my 3rd year riding the 100 miles out to Gambier (Kenyon College). Riding 100 miles also means that I am tasked with raising at least $2,000. 100% of the money raised goes to cancer research at The James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute. This link also talks more about how the money is used --> http://pelotonia.org/about/impact/ Please do not feel obligated to donate, but I wanted to try and use all avenues that I can to help raise the money. So many of us have been impacted by cancer, and I just want to do my part to fight the fight. This ride is way bigger than any one of us, and I'm just doing my little part that I can to help those very close to me, and those that I will never meet or know. Thanks for reading! You can donate here --> http://www.pelotonia.org/kbushmeyer *Riding through Granville* *Just a few of the family and friends I ride for*
zeitgeist57
Very cool, Kale! Best of luck this year. FYI: a UA-dad friend of mine raised almost $1,800 (!!!) towards his goal this year by renting a lawn aerator or lawn overseeder for the week. After doing his own lawn, he hit up his facebook page, offering to do peoples' lawns for $50 with 100% of the proceeds going towards his Pelotonia campaign. Needless to say he raised more than enough dough in one week. I think he said his cost was $225 for the machine for the week, but he would've paid that anyway for his own use. Thought that was a clever way of doing it.
