2006 VW Passat 2.0T Broken Transmission

My transmission is leaking bad, and falls out of gear, i would like to know the best way to go about getting it fixed, it's an automatic.

 

I would like to know the best way to go about getting it inspected by someone who i can trust not to take advantage of me lol

With an automatic transmission, often staying in gear or shifting is dependent on fluid. If you transmission is leaking badly it may be losing enough fluid to not function properly. The first step is to identify if that is the issue. Top off the tranny with the correct amount of fluid and see if it is still slipping. If not the next step is to figure out where it is leaking from. Often repairing a leak is a gasket or an o-ring and sometimes it can be done in car.

Likely gonna end up just needing a trans put in it.

Has a tq converted trans. I agree it's probably done for.

 

But basic trouble shooting is a good idea. North End Wrench (Crossle on here) might be a place to start.

Where are you located and is it leaking from the trans itself of just loosing fluid? Trying to see if it's a possible trans line leak that is bad and could be a easy fix for you or if it's a pretty serious issue

I am unsure if it is a trans line leak, i havent been able to see besides the large puddle of trans fluid in my drive way and all the way up the street

We are over by that airport/cow field off sawmill. I'm hoping for his sake that it's only a leak

I bet one of the trans cooler lines failed. That's what happened on my Regal.
