He is thinking about selling his bike, Harley-not sure of what model, and buying a fun car. He has narrowed it down to either a Foxbody or SN95 mustang, would love to get a 72 Nova but can't find decent ones in his price range. Price range is 10 grand max. Must be manual, and preferably low miles. Thanks for any help.

Foxbodies are definitely creeping up in price for good examples. From what I looked at, SN95s are hitting bottom-dollar from a depreciation standpoint. Might be a good time to buy. I'm reminded of Freddy "Tavarish" getting a $1000 Mustang GT convertible in recent vids...

I don't see the point in a fox body unless you are extremely nostalgic for them, buying a race car, or looking for a project. They are just too old at this point.

The SN95 seems like the value, but if it were me I would want a cobra, bullett, or a mach 1. Most plain jane 5.0 and 4.6 SN95s will just be ragged out, and the ones that aren't will be pulling similar money so you might as well have the special car.

a little high but the mileage is really low:

Mileage is high but it's a really rare car:

Actually I had a friend who was obsessed with this car when it was new, esp the "mystic paint". When she got into Duke her parents bought her one...then she got knocked up (not by me). I used to see her sometimes driving it to hofstra with a baby seat in the back.

anyway, here is another one he could probably negotiate down:

don't be afraid of 100K+ miles on these cars. It's a mustang, I'm pretty sure you can fix it with a rock and a sharpened stick, and junkyards are groaning with parts for them. I see a lot of them with 140K miles and some with 200K miles - they use almost the same drive train in million mile NYC cabs and town cars - they are durable.

My buddy bought a clean 2000 Trans Am with full exhaust and some other bolt ons with higher miles (140k) for $4500. You could definitely find a nice F-Body under $10k.

You can't really only want to spend $10k and get something "fun" that also has lower miles. He's gotta budge somewhere

A good friend of mine is looking to sell his red 98 GT 5-spd car. Less then 100k, has a PI motor swapped in to it with all the basic bolt on's, he has factory terminator anniversary wheels on it, super sharp car.

I can send you his info if you'd like. It's a solid ride.

He found a car. 99 mustang convertible, yellow and it has a shaker hood-if anyone saw it on Craigslist. He will be picking it up in the next couple days, I'll post pictures and details then. Thanks everyone!
