Not the best pics but it was a busy day getting the new girl all cleaned up and coated for winter:

  • Rinseless Washed
  • Nano Sponge Fine Grade
  • CarPro Essence Polish on White Hybrid Force Pads
  • Flex 3401 Forced Rotation buffer
  • McKee's 37 v2 Formulation SiO2 Coating
  • McKee's Glass Coating

The only quick non-detail item I knocked out was badging the back decklid.

A real man would run that thing without a front plate.

Looks awesome per the usual!

Thanks!

Plate wise, I don't need to give the cops another reason to put their eye on me.

I wasn't happy about the plate mount being installed but the tech showed me how the tow-hook mount I usually go with would interfere with the forward facing radar unit.

I was leaving downtown and someone in a BMW F10 550i was crawling down 3rd Street with a front tow-hook plate mount...plate was so high it was obscuring part of the headlight beam! #youredoingitwrong

Now you've made me think that maybe there's some sort of bumper sensor he was trying to not have the plate interfere with....

^^ very likely. On mine if the designers were "sharp" they would have put the radar system on the other side of the car. Perhaps they need it on the opposide side of oncoming traffic though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The radar sensor could go on either side, so for some reason they picked the passenger side, however you also have an ultrasonic sensor next to the tow hook that would probably be covered.
