Wouldnt be my choice, but If we are strictly talking about impressing the non automotively educated masses, any "luxury" car from the 00's with 100k on it.

I agree with most here, a Mercedes, BMW, Audi, ect. in your price range should fit the bill. But I can't help but wonder why you would be interested in buying a car to impress people, why not just get what you want?

What if I want a beautiful car that people will enjoy looking at?

What's the point of this?

I've had a rough couple of weeks with my hobby and started thinking about de-trackifying the Miata and just having a weekend toy that still makes people smile (my kids love showing off the Miata to their friends), but the seats in it aren't great and I figure if could sell it to another track nut in its current state and buy something a bit more comfortable that still has that fun character, it might be a better option.

Mostly, though, this is just how I pass the time.

As long as it's a toy and not a Daily....

A good old fashioned american Land Yacht convertible:

Seriously, Lots of eye candy with these cars. They are rolling marshmallows inside and out, cheap to own, cheap to fix and maintain, and super comfy. They collect stares because they are so unique. The only caveat I will add is that shoulder harnesses are not always installed on these cars, although most have the mounts for it if they are made after 1968 and you can put them in.

Let's not forget the XJS vert too. I saw one on friday and I forgot how striking these cars are in person - they look like nothing on the road now:

I should also add, I think boxsters are under $10K now, but that feels like trading 1 miata type car for another:

there are also Camaro SS's in that range too:

but between you and me the WS6 is the nicer car.

I love the French, but I wouldn't wish Peugeot ownership in the US on my worst enemy. I had three friends in highschool that had handme down 505's like that one, they broke constantly and parts were impossible to get back in the 1990's (with the internet now, who knows?). You have to have someone who knows these cars to work on them. I will say they were fun to drive when they did work.
