One of the comments I saw posted put it well:

- Lease it for 3 years, $5k down - $2100/month. Dump it.

- buy one 3-5 years from now for $50-60k used.

You don’t want to own the depreciation on these premium Cars.

 

5k down and 2,100 a month you spend 75k on your lease over 3 years

Never put money down on lease though.....keep that equity in your pocket. Rates are so low it's not going to save you much at all. Putting money down runs against the who concept of leasing and puts your money at risk should you total it or get out early. Just my 2 Cents. :p

^^ that's about right...but that poor bastard isn't going to get out of his lease as VW/Audi isn't going to let him out through Swap a Lease or like sites. Lots of lenders maintain the original lessee as a co-signer and they are one of them.
