Hey all-

A friend of mine recently had his 2011 Nissan Quest Minivan refuse to move under its own power and had it towed to the dealership. The CVT transmission has failed for the second time in his ownership. He now has 154k miles. The transmission and a few engine sensors need replaced according to the dealer and they want more than the car is worth. He is looking at selling it for scrap value and wanted to know if I had any other ideas/suggestions. I don’t have the time to bring it to my garage and fix it for him as I already have 3 non running cars in there now!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Andrew

I would have to agree with Steve on this one. When it comes to the quest they really are a bit of a throw away kind of car. Once you've put all that time and effort in it, he would not get his money back out of it. I would suggest scrap and buy a new, or at least new to him vehicle. Hopefully one that is more reliable than the quest.
