The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. on Murnan Road in Prairie Township. Investigators said Daniel J. Thomas, III, 22, lost control of his motorcycle, drove off the right side of the road and struck several fixed objects. Thomas was transported to Doctor's West Hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to a news release issued by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, excessive speed appeared to be a factor in the crash. According to police, the crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. near the corner of Kent Road and Miller Avenue. A Lincoln Town Car driven by Alaina L. Greene, 30, was traveling west on Kent Road when it collided with a scooter traveling south on Miller Avenue. The man operating the scooter, who police identified as Brian A. Jefferson, 35, of Columbus, was transported to Grant Medical Center where died from his injuries. The cause of the crash remained under investigation. Brian Jefferson was killed along Kent Street and Miller Avenue on Saturday. Police said Jefferson was driving a motor scooter when he was hit by the driver of a Lincoln Town Car. He died as the result of his injuries while on the way to an area hospital. Hours earlier in Newark, police said, two people were riding a motorcycle on state Route 16 near Church Street when they crashed into a sign in the median. Neither the driver nor passenger was wearing a helmet. The passenger was taken to The Ohio State University Medical Center, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. In Prairie Township, Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating another fatal motorcycle crash. Daniel Thomas III was riding along Murnan Road at about 10 p.m. Saturday when he veered off the road and hit severe objects.
