what are your winter projects for the bike?

for me..

Maintenance stuff:

1. new chain and sprocket

RK 520GXW Gold X'ring Chain & Steel Sprocket Conversion Kit

going with steel sprockets for longevity since i do quite a bit of touring on it.

2. new spark plugs

3. Clean the air filter

4. replace the clutch and brake fluid

5. drain the antifreeze and put some fresh stuff in

6. New Michelin Pilot Road 2s

7. New front brake pads

Goodies:

1. Hid Kit for my low beams

2. Frame sliders

3. maybe a Power commander and tune

4. Possibly braided brake and clutch lines

5. Heli bars

thats about as much as i can think of now.

I have almost the same list.

minus the 520 convo. id say stay with the 525. but its your bike.

looking at Renthal lows or Ultra lows.

Do Work Son!!!

Hey, I'm suffering just as much as you! This morning temps were barely 60° for my 7am commute to San Jose. Right now it's barely 90°. Do you have any idea how much of a pain in the ass it is to pack a cool/cold riding jacket and hot riding jacket for a commute!?

Honestly' date=' I'm thinking about having Paul (attackpainter) shoot her fairings with a nice gloss black dusted with a very light bronze/gold metal flake. I'd like the flake to match the frame and wheels.[/quote']

you wont be dissapointed with his work.

1. Fresh set of Metzeler M3's

2. Either a new chain and sprockets or just cleaning the piss out of my current ones, depending on wear.

3. Bleeding Brakes and new pads

4. Oil Change

5. Possibly chopping the pipe a few inches. (any tips?)

6. Jetting, come spring

Oh yeah, those days are not very far behind me. Although commuting to downtown LA it would be in the mid 80s by 7:15AM on a good day and you'd have to chew the air. Splitting through gridlock was fun.

Jacket switching! Such horrible torture!

cut 18 inches out of it thats what I did to mine. I had it with about 6 inches cut out and no baffles and it would harmonize with my buddy 06 with 2 bros on it
