Well here she is:

Went for a 300 mile ride with a couple other guys, Stevan and John (Repsol John I believe?). Went all the way to WV and back.

Go figure the XR doesn't do so great on the highway but once we got to the twisty stuff I was really suprised just how well it did! (so you have context I've ridden my F3 and 600rr at a few track days and was at the upper level of intermediate, I also race little mini bikes and do okay. Basically I'm not great but I can get around pretty quickly)

The bike has a few modifications, 320mm front rotor, Rad cush hub, Maxxis slicks, 12kg spring in rear, 4.9s in the front, 7.5 weight fork oil. Motor is uncorked but thats it.

Hopefully Stevan puts up the videos.

Anyways, the bike was suprisingly stable when leaded over and had plenty of drive out of the corners compared to keep up with the liter bikes. Any open stretch though they decimated me. Stevan stayed with me okay, but he is pretty slow on that R1 in the really twisty bits:) The suspension damping was a bit harsh on the high speed hits (although the sportbike guys were complaining how the road was utter crap so maybe the XR's suspension was doing okay).

I was a bit concerned getting the stiffest springs I could find, may be too stiff. They are not, stil a lot of travel and give a much better feel than my old XR that had the stock springs. I'm 180 before gearing up.

The slicks did slide a little in the first couple minutes if I got on it too hard when leaned over, they came up to temp very quickly though (60 degree day).
