I'm glad all you guys are getting in on this. I was really hoping there would be a few people interested. Anybody doing any trackdays at mid-ohio this year. My gf bought me a gift pass and I'm looking to split a trailer/gas with somebody.

+1 for next sunday Applebees meet...I'm on campus all the time but HATE riding on campus (traffic+bikes= wtf mate). Looking forward to meeting you guys and gals.

whats going on? is there a meeting thing scheduled within this thread that i missed?

weather is calling for rain so hopefully that changes

anything over a week away is likely wrong and will change...

First post:

Hey All,

My roommate, Chachi, and I both attend the OSU Columbus Campus and we were looking for some other OSU area people that we could meet up and ride with now and then. We will be having a little meet up at the Applebee's on Olentangy River Road just North of campus on Sunday the 25th at 4:00pm. We hope all of you in the area will come out and we can meet some new people around campus to ride with. Hope to see you there. Post up if you are coming, and even if you can't come, let us know if you are an OSU area rider who would like to occasionally ride with us. We generally ride a 2-3 times a week about 100 or so miles each time, plus our little commutes to classes and such. This is mostly just a meet and greet so we can get to know some of our fellow OSU riders.

I'll be there, but not on my bike. I just got it and haven't gotten in enough practice to be safe on the roads. There's a nearby parking lot I'm getting to know pretty well, though.

I won't be the only one to ask this, but have you signed up for an msf class? Infinitely better than "learning" to ride in a parking lot on your own.

Oh yeah! I took the MSF course last month and got all my gear. But I got the bike a week or so ago and want to be a bit more comfortable before I head out on the road. Figure 8s, quick stops, and some swerving are on the plate this week. And a trip to a quiet neighborhood.

More cautious than necessary? Maybe. :dunno:

If I get a lot of practice in this week, I'll ride the bike. Olentangy River Road seems like a good route to take.

Practice??? We talkin bout Practice, man. How Silly is that when we talkin about that. But we talking about Practice, man. We ain't talking about the game, man. But we talking about Practice, man.

Keep on riding the sidestreets, but stay off campus. Horrible place to learn to ride. Go to Upper Arlington and rider there. Too many cars and stupid drivers out here east of high.

thats what i have been doing but the msf class is three months overbooked so i am learning on my own with my bike. Getting better. Just need to build up more confidence.

you can take a gander at mine chachi. it'll blow your mind...

mahdey - that bike is not a very good street bike, so if you're feeling uncomfortable or whatever just know that it wasn't made to be a comfy street bike.

also if you're having trouble with turns... go faster. seriously.
