Hi, my name is Bob from just outside Huber Heights. Been riding since '69 and currently have a KTM 690 sm-r. Planning on getting together with other riders in the area, my family is up in the Lorain, Elyria area and sometimes get up there too. I was referred to this site by a member of the supermoto.com forum to hopefully get some information. I am really racking up the miles on the 690 and would really like to find his bigger brother but am either lacking luck in this state or just don't know where to look. I'm having no luck finding a dealer that sells the 990 sm anywhere around here. I was told to ask STT-Brian where to go if it's even possible to get one. The sm-r would be sweet but haven't ruled out the T model but both imho would do what I want. Not really happy with cruising for lots of miles on the 690 at 85-90 just trying to keep up on interstates outside of Ohio. My boy is coming home from Afghanistan in early Sept and would like to be at Ft Bragg (rode down on the 690 right before he left) when he comes back. The attitude's I get from KTM Dealers, at least around here have almost run me off of the brand, but the bikes speak for themselves. Not getting much help in finding what I want from them either. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the Welcome folks. Went for a ride the friday before Memorial day to Columbus and the Dealer I bought my current bike from (Reynoldsburg) isn't selling the street line anymore, although he had a leftover SuperDuke on the floor. That day Ohio Rider only had a 950 sm and stopped up and saw Kirk at KRW later in the day and he only sells the dirt line, not street. There have been a couple other shops that were suggested on the other forum, Pittsburg and Louisville that at least on their website carry the street along with a shop in Mansfield that advertises street also. I was informed that KTM changed the bike sales from big bikes (990), small bikes (690 and under) to dirt, street this year as far as possibly part of their restructuring for their dealer network. I was at the Adventure Ride at Snowshoe in '08 and rode all the bikes they had for Demo, I really liked the power of the SuperDuke but didn't like the rearset type of foot controls. I'm 54 and have rode mostly dirt bikes in my life. The SM line is the closest I've found to that seating position so I'll keep looking. Something always turns up eventually, May try talking to the folks at Ohio Riders again as they may be able to wheel and deal to get what I want.
