No it's BS...gas prices have gone from $1.95 in 2000 to $4.15 in 2011...that's double. I don't make double the money I did in 2000, and all other uilities have gone high too. The vast majority of workers salaries have not kept up with inflation, that is the problem.

But, the previous 30 or so years didn't keep up with inflation, so I've heard that when bringing inflation into the picture, gas is still cheap at $4.00 a gallon.

I'm too lazy to find out how accurate this is, but it's what I've heard...

Its funny everyone is crying over a little jump in gas prices, move to Europe and other countrys that pay upto 13 bucks a gallon. Of all people to be complaining about gas bike riders should be the last. You guys are getting 3 or 4 times the fuel mileage of most vehicles on the road. And half of you guys just go out and ride and go through fuel like its water.

My bike only gets about 38 or so. Not a whole lot better than my car. Definitely not 3 or 4 times.

It's that damn President Bush....he's at it again....

There you go!

I hear bush is to blame for the lack of rain in texas, global warming, global cooling, my grass not being mowed, all the rain in ohio, the tornadoes in the carolinas a couple weeks ago, the tornadoes in alabama, the flooding in missouri, the gulf oil spill, the deficit, obama care, my tires wearing uneven.

BLAME BUSH!!!

My bike gets about 40mpg and the car gets 23.8mpg.

I have FuelLog on my phone and you input your odometer, fuel volume, and volume price and it figures a bunch of stuff out for you. For instance, on average it costs me 14 cents per mile, 7.11mi per dollar, average of $199.29 per month and and average of 17.239 per year. Pretty cool app actually.

At its best the Vstrom will get 60 mpg... the focus gets 30 combined and maybe 37 on the highway... factor in the tires that burn out way way faster, the bike really isnt a save on gas... I'm not complaining, its fun, fuel costs and the rising cost of everything will shove the economy back into the hole for sure... :( .. which shouldn't be a big surprise

I got gas for $3.82 today at SAMs club and the cars there were lined up 5 and 6 deep at each pump, it was crazy, looks like I'm gonna be riding the ninja everywhere this summer cuz it gets 75 mpg lol, although the new Mazda 3 I just got gets 29mpg combined so that's not too bad either.

I got a Ninja 650 and I try to ride it as much as I can cause even when I ride it hard, which is most of the time, I'm getting better mpg than my Honda Accord but, I've got a wife and 2 kids to haul around too. If I could just get her to get her own bike and then we could haul the boys around 2up!

Due to so many people here using gas for fun we use more gas in America than any other country in the world and expect to get it for the least. Suck it up

Good point! Europe is awesome. I can't wait until we finally assimilate in complete totality with their awesome healthcare, high taxes, and let's not forget tremendous freedoms. In fact... you wouldn't have to worry about filling your man-bike 1k since you'd still be on your super-efficient , mandated 150. Whoot whoot! Go Europe!

 Making a point, not attacking you.
