RSparky
I'm considering debadging my bike. Did it on the 650, and liked how it looked so much more. But I'm wondering if I should worry about faded paint, either on the tank or the plastics? It's an 05, and I'm pretty sure it was kept in the elements...Tell me I'm paranoid, and just to rip off those dam tuning forks...
Bad324
its a legitimate concern. However, if you have any sort of detailing knowledge, its simple to make it less noticeable
Steve Butters
give it a try and see....worst case, put them back onmy mustang was a black 99 and i took the emblems off in 08 and there wasnt any fade....but there was holes where the badges lined up....not sure if bikes have holes though
RSparky
eh, ok. Can't put stickers back on, but I guess it'll be alright. Needs repainted anyway.
Steve Butters
"debadging" gave me the impression they logos were emblems, like plastic...thats why i said if you dont like it to put them back on...didnt realize they were decals, my bad
RSparky
The ones on the tank are. And they're what mainly I don't like. So I'll probably just take them off.
Likwid
I debadged my 2005 Vulcan... I didn't see any difference in paint

Steve Butters
try buffing it with some transmission fluidmy dad had a red iroc z and it started to fade and oxidize, and trans fluid shined it right upor do the "proper" thing and find some product made for that...im sure they make something that will blend it to make it less noticeable
ohdaho
Make they are clearcoated over. My street fairings were debadged but the tank still has kawii on it since the clearcoat would create an impression.
RSparky
Yamaha just has slap on stickers. The clear on the tank kept it from fading.
