I'm 21 and just started riding this year and pay $252 a year for my '04 Triumph Daytona 600. Granted this is not the best plan gieco has but its pretty good. LINK
Most insurance companies list the Ninja 1000 (Z1000SX) as a ZX10R, no similarities between the two at all. A Z1000, which is nearly identical to the Ninja 1000, minus full fairings, is half the cost to insure, and the Z1000 even has quicker acceleration than the N1K (gearing & tune)...Makes sense to them I guess! buildit
I payed three times more for my V-strom over a Vmax with Allstate. Change to Gieco dropped it by $400. According to an AMA report that came out about that time the National Insurance Institute made a list of "High power Sport Bikes" to be seen as high risk. They put the DL1000 on that list. Must have been looking at the pictures and not reading the specs.

TenTwelve
The only insurance company that seems to have a really firm grasp on motorcycles is Progressive. It just happened that my provider was within a few dollars of Progressive on the quote for my new bike.
drew95gt
State Farm has been good to me, way cheaper than Progressive...but I also have home owners, life, and 2 cars insured there...so that helps I am sure. I pay around $35 a month full coverage on my Z750S.
Sniper_308
I would def call and get it changed. FYI, I only pay $300 a year on mine, full coverage, through State Farm.

buildit
-1 progressiveI will never use them again, even if it was free. I was in an accident as a kid, not my fault, other driver cited. Because it was a self insured trucking company, NAPA, they did everything but deny my claim. Finally had to threaten personal injury to get the value of the vehicle out of them. "F" Progressive.
