I use honda off-road lube w/ white graphite one both the quad (obviously) and also the vstrom. Seems to be treating me good. Dont see any reason to buy another type of lubricant for the street bike. The streets of Cleveland are worse than where the 400ex goes anyhow.

I have tried them "all" nothing better IMHO than Belray Superclean.........a close second would be Dupont Teflon Lube.

^^^ this I use hilco tef its a teflon spray. Zero sling and has that white color when dry also since it is a dry lube it attracts very little road grime.

+1 for kerosene to clean with. Suzuki recommends it in the manual.

I used Maxima chain wax for a couple years in the dirt. I've switched to Dupont Multi-use teflon: http://www.lowes.com/pd_213197-39963-D00110101_?PL=1&productId=1059839

Works great.

Spray it on while the chains warm after a ride or after a fill-up.
