Big Chief201
I'm having a dilema do I go to Rocky in nelsonville or just got to rods for a new pair of boots tomorrow???
garvinzoom
I went to Rocky's about a two months ago for boots and ended up at Workman's in Zanesville to buy boots as selection at Rocky just keeps getting worse and worse. I would try Rod's first.
MidgetTodd
No real good deals at Rocky anymore either
Beegreenstrings
I find deals at Rocky but they are few and far between and I am there practically twice a month on a job. That is about the only way to get a deal there anymore. Just keep checking in.I would second workmans. They have a great selection.
Carwhore
If your like a size 8 or 9 then you can find a good deal at rocky, if not then go else where

Steve Butters
lucky - i cant find 14s in hardly any stores, and if i do, its never a steel toe version...i have to order from them onlinei have two pairs, one is the power welt series (waterproof - for doing sewers and such) and one is the endurance hiker steel toe (everguard leather double toe - so i can kick your guys shit at UPS and not ruin my boots )....they cost 120-130 each, wish i could have found them for 45 lol....even the pit boss basic boot is like 90 at meijers...i wish i wore a size 12, then i could find more boots in stores instead of shopping online lolnever owned a more comfortable (or durable) boot than these...i bought some redwings but didnt give them a very good shot...wore them around the house for a day and then returned them, just didnt like how they felt Edited November 21, 2011 by Steve Butters
snot
I use redwing steel toes (store only). You can also check on line (othr brands)with msc or grainger. Grainger can give 15% off if you ask and msc has a 35% off sale one a month always during the week...check on black Friday. BadTrainDriver
What you've got to watch with Red Wing boots is that you're buying the REAL, made in the US boots. Also, you cannot buy REAL US MADE Red Wing boots online. If you find a location that does sell them, they're doing against Red Wing policy.I've had these for almost 5 yrs. One of the best boots you'll ever wear.http://www.redwingshoes.com/red-wing-shoe/2406-red-wing-shoes/2406-red-wing-mens-6-inch-boot-brownThese I looked at...but they're just not the same...http://www.redwingshoes.com/red-wing-shoe/971-red-wing-shoes/971-red-wing-mens-6-inch-boot-black Edited November 21, 2011 by BadTrainDriver

Steve Butters
and are you sure you cant buy redwings online?https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&tbm=shop&q=red+wing+boots&oq=red+wing+boots&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=11975l11975l0l12362l1l1l0l0l0l0l144l144l0.1l1l0theres a lot of big name stores in that list, nordstrom, bloomingdales, urban outfitters, etc...i wouldnt think they would all try to break policyi dont know that for sure, just surprised to see your post, ive never heard of that

BadTrainDriver
I believe there are certain styles you can buy, and certain styles you can't buy.My initial comment may not have been fully correct.

Big Chief201
ended up at Rod's and got a pair of Ariat's for $99. I'm pretty happy with that. Now to get my Justin's Re-soled.
Ron505
I got a "deal" at Rocky a couple of weeks ago. They were made in China and lasted about 2 weeks before the sole started separating. I knew better, but gave them a try anyway.
max power
Rockys suck since they went out of the country. I've been wearing Red Wings for about 10 years and wouldnt wear anything else. Get a pair with Vibram soles. They last way longer than any other soles on any boots I've seen, and they dont melt in fires.edit: apparently, if you want Red Wings with Vibram soles these days, you are limited to loggers.Anyone know anything about Chippewa boots?Im kinda digging these: These are dirt cheap and Vibram soled. Anyone heard of Bierker? Edited November 21, 2011 by max power
