motozachl
Either the cz75b or springfield xd tactical....I like em both but an only get one.....Whats your opinions?
conn-e-rot
never shot either but I've heard good things about the cz
snot
I vote for the xd. In vandalia you can rent guns so you can try them out. You may want to consider trying them out first.

Steve Butters
i think im going to pick up a 9mm sometime in the future - i do believe ill be giving glock a shot...do it, you know you want to of those two choices though, i would go with the czi like this duo-tone finish on them besteverybody has an XD, branch out some! lol.....plus, even though im sure XDs are great guns, theyre hideous looking
scottb
The CZ is on my short list. I liked the excellent grips, and nice trigger. All steel too.I fired an XD M ( in 9 MM ) , so might not be exactly the same as the XD Tactical, but I was not a fan of the grip safety and the narrower feeling grips.I like the CZ over XD. C-bus
The CZ is a classic. I've never fired one, but it's a proven design. The XD is a workhorse that will go "bang" every time. Personally, I'd take the CZ if I had a few guns and the XD if I only had one.
motozachl
Well i've shot them both along with many others, would never buy without shooting them first. I am just stuck on these two in the cage match. They are completely different guns with each their own high pointsEdit: yes thats the one thing I dont like about the xm, tons of safetys and checks that 'could' go wrong.I also dont hear much about and can barely find a CZ for sale locally... scottb
We should plan an OR shooting party to try out other guns, before the holidays. See my 22LR pistol thread too, since a few of us are looking for opinions on pistols.
C-bus
I like the CZ better but would rather have an XD in the trunk when the zombies come. Can't go wrong with either.
Steve Butters
i dislike the grip safety on the xd, and while im sure its lighter than the cz, it seems a lot bulkier

MidgetTodd
Of those two I would go with the XD because you didn't offer a Glock.
motozachl
Didnt care for the glock which is ironic since the xd is sort of like a glock....i might be more on the cz side

Consider the M&P 9 from Smith&Wesson, it too is a workhorse and won't let you down when the zombies arrive. Striker fired pistols are the way to go IMHO, and I prefer double action as well. Steve Butters
why do you prefer striker vs hammer?i love my hammer fired...DA/SA with manual decock lever is a great setup for an EDC....i like being able to cock/decock it myself, and i like how heavy the initial DA pull is, i dont have an external safety and i dont worry about the trigger at all - long as i dont pull it, its not going anywhere Edited November 22, 2011 by Steve Butters
C-bus
Beretta 92FS/M9 is a hell of a 9mm too. Some military appeal, great feel to it, and shoots like a champ.
Steve Butters
^ this guy is a trained assassin....i think he makes that beretta shoot better than most lol
TopGun
Got to shoot a XD last weekend and did not like the trigger reset upon letting the trigger go forward. It is very long and then the pull back to take up the slack is long imo. I am probably going to get a Sig with a trigger reset kit installed already. My Glock 17 never had work done and love the trigger set up.
max power
Our fearless leader has a CZ100. Great gun. I believe its a .40 though. Very well made.
speedytriple
Question why the xd tactical and not a xdm? Just wondering? I have a xd service model and sub compact in 9mm love them both they will always stay with me. And trust me I have gone thru a few carry guns already and the xd still has a place in my safe. I am also not a fan of hammers on pistols, just a personal preference.
motozachl
isnt the xdm slightly larger than the tactical?
speedytriple
They make a compact xdm now, also a 3.8, and the full size. The tactical is the 5 inch barrel on the xd. Think the standard xdm has a 5 inch as well. And the xdm holds three rounds more then the xd does in 9mm so the grip is a big longer. speedytriple
I say we all meet up at the range this weekend and go shooting. Stonewall is close to a bunch of us on here.
