cmh_sprint
I went to see my first 3D movie yesterday, took the family to see Star Wars 3D. I must be to old to care because i don't get it. There were some parts that were cool but I don't get all the hype, definitely not worth the upsell on tickets. It actually started to give my wife and me a headache.
kawi kid
Ditto. Went and saw Jackass 3-d apparently my eyes work differently because I couldn't see the 3-d stuff. And like you I got a horrible headache.
jbot
watch avatar in 3d. i've heard some of the newer 3d home projectors make the effect "pop" even more than in theaters. it's cool beans.
f4isvt
i dont care for 3d movies either or get the hype. i have been seeing everything in 3d for years kinda tired of it.
Casper
It was popular in the first half of the 50s and then again in the 80s. It's just the same fad, with the same dorky glasses.
Tigerpaw
Is it just me...it seems like everything in the scenes are sharp and "in focus." The 3D makes some things appear closer, but the farther ones are just as sharp. To me it makes for a neat trick, but does not look realistic. All that said, I have almost no depth perception. magley64
I do not like the 3-d business in all the movies...Some of the movies, fine, avatar was great...I'd rather watch a crisp 1080 high def image than a 3-d any day of the week. Limitedslip7
I thought Avatar was fricken sweet in 3D but it's the only one I've ever seen that enhanced the experience instead of detracting from it.

Simplysix
I'm with most people here; not a big fan. However, if they made a large 1080 lcd/led home tv that was 3D and didn't require glasses I would be more interested Edited February 20, 2012 by Simplysix
Radio Flyer
I've seen two 3d movies and don't really notice a difference. I heard Avatar was awesome but I never did go see it.I'm waiting for holograms.

magley64
i thought tron was decent in 3d versus 2d.I saw it in 3d imax, and 2d regular theatre, the imax was better, but i couldn't tell if it was the 3d that made it better or just the imax... shadyone
I like how it gives everything a depth. and the new polarized glasses are way better than the old blue and red..
standout
Most movies are shot in 2d and then converted. Those suck. Avatar was shot in 3d that's what made it awesome. I also have kids so a lot of the Pixar type animated movies are great in 3d as well. The rest is pretty much garbage.
SWing'R
I went to see my first 3D movie yesterday, took the family to see Star Wars 3D. I must be to old to care because i don't get it. There were some parts that were cool but I don't get all the hype, definitely not worth the upsell on tickets. It actually started to give my wife and me a headache.I wondered how that would be. The best are movies that are actually filmed in 3d, not converted to 3d.I prefer a regular movie, but will see a 3d movie if thats all its playing in,so far I've liked the ones I've seen, the effects have come so far from thedays of the red/green glasses! ReconRat
About 12% of people can't see 3D effect in movies and TV. The headache is a symptom of that. I've also read that it can take a while for the eyes to adjust to seeing simulated 3D. It's known as stereo blind, and it's pretty common. It can be total or partial. It effects depth perception as well. It is possible to learn to see 3D and make depth perception pop into reality like suddenly having new vision.http://www.mediacollege.com/3d/depth-perception/stereoblind.htmlIt is indeed still a fad, not really any different than any of the previous times it was offered. It has a long ways to go before it's here to stay.Best 3D movies I've seen were shown at Cape Kennedy, the iMax theater. One shot inside the space station, and the other a science fiction story about a family living in a very large space station orbiting Earth. Real 3D camera work, no conversions. Goldie
The wife and I took our niece to see Toy Story 3 and when we got there she literally cried because it wasn't in 3D. I wanted to smack her in the head and tell her I'm 20 years older than you and I've never even seen a 3D movie, so stop your bitchin.
