Steve Butters
i love how youre comparing a droidx to an iphone 5......droidx is a fucking dinosaur compared to the phones available now.... your comparison is about as relevant as comparing a 1995 gixxer 600 to a 2012 gixxer 1k
Rctaylor
I played with both for quite some time. I settled on an S3. Very happy with my purchase. No issues so far, haven't had to reboot for any reason, doesn't get hot even when in use, and the S voice is fantastic. (Although I didn't notice much difference between Siri and S voice honestly).I get about 2 days out of a charge with heavy use browsing/playing games. The standby if you don't have the screen on is supposed to be 28 days.
ChiefScooter
I currently have a Motorola Photon. I upgraded from a Palm Pre. I see quotes of batteries heating up. The Palm Pre was a WebOS operating system, and the battery would get extremely hot, to where I couldn't physically handle it. They tried to address the issue through software updates, but there were times when the phone would heat up badly. Normally, for me, this was when it was under heavy load, such as tethering. As for my Motorola Photon, I have no issues with the battery heat. Absolutely no problems with the phone, and I have had it for about a year now. Battery life is great, it can last about 2 days idle, and 1 day of moderate use. Depends on which radios are enabled at the same time (Bluetooth, 4g, Wifi, etc). I have the phone rooted, and I tether the crap out of it when I am on the move with the military. It comes in handy quite a bit. My wife has an iPhone 4s, and I love how slick the GUI is on it. It feels very quick and fluid. However, I can't stand the screen size. The retina is nice and all, but I hate having to squint or whatever just to see what I am looking at clearly. And the no Flash support is a real PITA. Her battery life is about on par with my Motorola Photon.I have noticed with her phone that she has an easier time with it. She had an HTC EVO, and while she liked it a lot, she likes the iPhone 4s even more. We haven't looked at the iPhone 5, and I don't think we will till she is eligible for an upgrade. She does miss the customizability of her HTC, though. She could change the launcher theme whenever she wanted, but can't do that with the iPhone, as far as she is aware.
