  1. There's nothing in Detroit except abandoned buildings.
  2. I have a Goldwing. Mileage isn't an issue. Corner speed might be, though.
  3. Oil change. Gear driven cams, FTW.
  4. I installed a new 12v outlet and built a quick disconnect harness for it. Not sure why BMW put the factory plug behind the rider, but that isn't an ideal spot. Now I have one CANBUS 5v outlet and two 12v direct from battery outlets. Also bought myself a new heated liner and gloves. The desk job is making me soft.
  5. Actual mileage. Sorry folks. Wally World is closed for renovations.
  6. Spent some time pulling more cabinet facing off the Tupperware. Almost there and thought about going all the way, but my fingers started to protest. Two fat blisters on my thumb and index fingers quelled my enthusiasm. Very pleased with the way its looking so far.
  7. Assembled the Goldwing and took a short ride to shake down the suspension upgrade. 100% worth the money. Low speed maneuvers and highway handling is most noticeable. It doesn't wallow and 75mph is solid as 45mph. Bumps are smoothed out, too.
  8. It's been 60-70⁰ all week where I am. Too bad my motorcycle is not where I am.
  9. I have the FOBO set on the Goldwing. No issues at all last year. Work very well.
  10. I thought that at first, but ethanol has been an issue longer than these bikes have existed. If it's ethanol causing the concern, then shame on Honda.
  11. Edit: Jim got me.
  12. Paperwork says it only affects 2018-2019 model years.
  13. Don't worry, Jim. You can borrow my American-made Goldwing while yours is down for service.
  14. I did this a while ago, but the forks are back onto the Goldwing. I added a fork brace, too. Shocks came with a spanner, so they're done. (thanks, @Likwid) I plan to build a marine grade harness for the front fender lights with weatherproof harness termination. Crimped splice joints and electrical tape aren't my style. As for the stainless brake lines, I have to remove the fuel tank to access one of the rear brake lines. I need to remove the rear wheel and maybe the swing arm to remove the tank... haven't looked in the service manual yet, but it does slide out the rear of the frame. It currently has 5.5 gallons of 87 octane inside, so that's being shelved until a later date. Edit: Checked the manual and the tank clears the swingarm.
  15. Are they wearing shorts to keep Joel from getting pokey? 🤔

    Ok, indoor.....

That's a way nicer pic of what I was going to post.
  17. My only experience with dash swaps is my former life as a Nissan tech. When we ordered a new gauge cluster, we had to sign an affidavit for the mileage so the manufacturer could preprogram odometer to read the same mileage. ECU never played a role.
