Thank you, Bubba. If I regret it enough, I'll overcorrect with a new 1250RS.

Same as last Sunday. Lunch in RV. Took the RT. Beautiful day. When we got home I took the Wing for a carburetor flush down the interstate. Ran her about 80mph on the way out and about 60-65 on the way home. She's got enough under the hood to tour at 90 mph, but shes really all about that right-lane, speed limit touring lifestyle. Amanda wants to get vintage tags, so I guess it's a parade bike, too. Next time you see me on it, I'll be sporting black shorts, white t-shirt, white velco kicks and a boomed 3/4 helmet.

Had a nice solo ride this morning. Took the 542 around the lake to 39/212/800/22 - stopped for a burger and fries on 22 - then 22 into Cambridge to grab CR-21 to 77. Fuel in Bolivar and then 212/21 into Massillon and backroads home from there. Installed risers onto the RT and replaced the Ilium Werks highway pegs with the set I had on the GSA. Less is more. Ordered a backpad like the one that comes on the GTL for Amanda. My new Sargent saddles should be here in a week or so. Bike is just about cross-country ready.

No. GS is gone. RS is going to go, too. The RT hits the spot just between the two of them. Surprised how good it is.

US-50 anywhere west of WV sucks.

I'm on BMW #3 and Goldwing #2.

Hey man.. I'm just glad your balls are holstered and not dragging the ground in this photo. I think she did a great job.

Edited title for market inflation adjustment.

Sounds kinky.

Amanda is leaning toward letting the Wing go in favor of the RT. She likes it a lot and thinks I should keep the RS as a spare BMW. Everyone needs a spare BMW, right?
-
Amanda and I had our maiden voyage on the RT. We took OH-212/93 to Roscoe Village for BBQ and then came home via 60/62/83 into Smithville/OH-21. Good weather. Good roads. Good food. Good day.

If you aren't going to 100% adhere to break-in, at least refrain from extended runs at the same RPM. (highway) I'm one to tend toward the break-in, but with a few high-revs mixed in on occasion. My advice is purely anecdotal.

Thanks, Bubba. I appreciate the assist. Like I said, I hate to sell it.. but I'm feeling slightly gluttonous at the moment.

Believe me when I say I don't want to sell this bike, but owning three touring bikes doesn't fit into my end game. Pretty sure the Goldwing is here for a while as our 2-up mount. Now that Isaac has moved back to New England, I needed a bike to do the 700 mile highway days on either end of the weekend twisty riding I'll do chasing him in his pocket racer. The RS is great for twisties and quite good on the highway, but not "Paul is Goldwing spoiled" good on the highway.

And central locking.

14,500 miles. Service Current. All the switches and gadgets. Ride Modes, ABS, Traction Control, Shift-Assist Pro, Heated Grips, Keyless Ignition, Cruise Control, Dynamic ESA w/ Electronic Preload and Damping, TPMS, Garmin Nav V, BMW Panniers. Upgrades: Wunderlich Comfort Bar Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust Clearwater Darla Aux Lights & Brake Light Moto-Mate GPS Relocation Bracket Sargent Saddle Kathy Designs Pannier Bags Givi Tail Bag Puig Touring Windscreen MachineArt Moto Engine Guards 2 BMW 12v Sockets BMW 328i Horn (Loud!) New Continental Sport Attack 4 Installed Last Fall. Factory Bars, Windscreen, Exhaust, Seat come with the bike. This is a well-sorted machine. Panniers are a little banged up from previous owner, but just cosmetic. I bought this July 2022 w/ 5200 miles on it from BMW of Detroit. This bike is unbelievably good, but my motorcycle path has come to a cross road. I'm open to offers, but farkles get removed during negotiations.

I rode it around Bolivar area to let it get used to me. Stopped in Sherrodsville for fuel and some Gatorade. Should have done this a few years ago.

Whenever Amanda tries to correct my behavior, my response is... "I've been <insert activity in question here> longer than you've been sucking oxygen. Pretty sure I got it under control." Shuts it down pretty quickly. 😆

Safe travels, Dan. Wishing for picture perfect weather.

The Kraut helmet I was wearing saved me. The flat-six stopped the minivan. The air deflectors were pretty good at air management, though.
-
-
Both. Closed: Directs air further away from pilot and passenger. Open: Redirects air onto pilot and passenger.

I removed more paneling and the arm rest brackets Amanda said she would never use. Reinstalled the giant wind deflectors, which are hideous but very effective. Changed the oil and filter. Rode it to work yesterday. Turned 27k on the ride home. Also rides like a dream at 85mph.
