I use jacketed unicorn tusk too. Jacketed in fairy wings. When they hit the bad guy then don't kill him, then inspire him with a sense of social joy and make him want to hug me, not rob me. After sharing his deepest, darkest feelings and experiencing the joy of getting it off his chest we sing kumbaya for hours until he falls in a magical dream-filled sleep full of friendly dragons and pixies. Then I taze him in the mansack.3 points

Quick run-down of CRT bikes: Heavily modified production motor in a prototype chassis, higher fuel allowance than the prototype bikes, much higher engine allocation than the prototype bikes. Currently employed motors include the lump out of the new ZX-10, the S1000RR's motor, and the Aprilia RSV4 motor. As has been said, the goal of CRT is to lower the barriers to entry for the sport. MotoGP desperately needs more riders on the grid in order to attract sponsors, fans, media, and MONEY. Prototype bikes are mind-bogglingly expensive: for a sattelite team to run a prototype costs several million euros per bike, and even then they are only leasing (read: renting). Include the cost of a halfway decent rider, a crew, transportation/lodging/etc for all the equipment and bodies etc etc and the cost to race in MotoGP easily eclipses tens of millions of euros. The problem is that right now, the bikes simply are not competitive when compared to the prototype bikes. Current estimates have the GP12 putting out north of 280 horses at the wheel. Danilli Petrucci's CRT bike is cranking out maybe 185. The most notable CRT ride is currently Aprilia's ART package, which is what Randy DePuniet is currently racing on. The ART bike is a very heavily massaged RSV4 motor, wrapped in a chassis that takes the WSBK platform above and beyond levels not allowed by WSBK rules, and managed by an Aprilia-developed electronics suite that all culminates in a turn-key GP racer that can be purchased for less than the price of leasing a prototype bike. It's still not competitive, though. Clearly, the CRT concept has a long way to go before it can supplant the current system of factory prototype machines, but like it or not that's pretty much where the sport has to go if we want to see more than processional races between six factory prototypes with a bunch of rich-but-won't-win sattelite teams. Rule changes are coming that are aimed at neutering the prototype bikes to bring them closer to CRT performance levels, while CRT development is steaming ahead as best it can. A maximum rev limit of somwhere in the 15,000 RPM range is in the pipeline for 2014, and things like minimum weight, engine allowances, and fuel limits are all fair game when it comes to narrowing the gap between prototype bikes and CRT machines. CRT is here to stay, at least for the forseeable future, and the next several seasons will be all about narrowing the performance gap so that you don't have to be megarich to have a shot at a MotoGP podium. ...that was quite long winded, but to the best of my knowledge, accurate. I'm bored at the late shift at work, what can I say?2 points

I'm making a supposition here, so figger this post is based on zero hard factual data and means doodly. Flame away.... The most likely scenario to this story is that the real crime against society is that the baby mamas also chose to bring a life they couldn't financially support into this world. Pretty damn sure they will be receiving monthly rent subsidies (Sec 8), welfare, food stamps, and Aid to Dependent Children money. The amount of money that comes from federal, state and local agencies must be astounding for this one individual and his 11 beotches. As a democratic and free republic, it's ridiculous to suggest mandatory sterilization for either, but at some point, society must somehow find a way to stop paying money for people's poor choices. Some here have suggested that ignorance plays a part, but I'm beginnning to wonder who's being played for the fool....1 point

My drop came in a Harley dealership parking lot. Pulled up to a parking space doing a tight U-turn to back in and grabbed the brake a bit hard with the front wheel hard over to the left. Went to put my foot down, unfortunately it landed on some stones and out went my foot. I was able to hop off before the bike hit the ground and held it up for a bit but was just too heavy for the grip I had. Had to set it down, re-grip and lift it back up again. The sales people wouldn't even talk to me. Weird.1 point

CRT is designed to allow teams to not have to spend the money on prototype motors, lowering the cost involved in funding a team. They just aren't competitive at this point. Almost like a ALMS race with multiple classes.1 point

Not to take away from the situation, if in fact there really is one since this is all based on hearsay from a text message and not a statement drop Pony themselves.... How does one crash on a dealer demo ride unless being a total tool or total noob? I say this because I have attended 2 dealer demos, only 2 because I was shopping for a bike and they were demoing ones I was deciding on. I think its lame to attend these things just to rub your ass on someone else's bike when you have no intent to buy and are not there to compare your choices. Anyway, both rides I did were guided rides with a rep in the lead, at the tail and in the middle. They were led at a snails pace along a route chosen for its lack of intersections, corners ect so there was no chance of crashing, especially a fatal crash. So I'm curious how did the crash happen, total tool not obeying the rules of the ride?1 point

Jesus. And this is why the stupidity of the anti gun menality perpetuates. Ask any LEO and prob most permit holders what a gun is used for and they say it is not to kill. It is to stop or neutralize a threat. Should they die, well that sucks for them but was not the desired outcome.1 point

First, I'm glad to see your doing ok given what happened. As far as the train that hit you, it was me. I was in the second group, first row and had a good launch and caught the back row of the first group as they got to you. I saw your hand go up and was on the brakes with the bike endo'ing before I got to you, but it was too late. I had you in front of me directly and those guys on each side with no where to go. My understanding is that Farmer was in surgey this morning for his femur.1 point

I just watched an interview with a Martin family lawyer. They acknowledge now that Martin attacked Zimmerman but argue that Martin "had to" attack Zimmerman because Zimmernan was "chasing him with a gun". This goes back to one of the first question I asked... *When* did the gun come into play? Did he have it in his hand as he was following Martin? Or did it stay in the holster until Martin had already started the physical confrontation? Just because I have something on me while I follow someone doesn't mean I followed them "with an X". If I have a leatherman on my belt then would you say I Followed them with a knife?" What about "Followed them with a pair of boxer shorts"?? If the Martin family wants me to believe that Martin struck Zimmerman in self defense because Zimmerman "Followed Martin with a gun" then they will have to prove to me that Martin KNEW Zimmerman had a gun. I believe the fact that Martin stopped running and turned around to face Zimmerman is strong evidence that Martin did not know about the gun. So then what? Did Zimmerman produce the gun while they were standing face-to-face talking and Martin attacked Zimmerman upon seeing the gun? Then Martin is acting in self defense and Zimmerman is the initiator of the violent part of the confrontation. Did Martin attack Zimmerman simply because he was being followed? It's not illegal for follow someone in public, so Zimmermand actions, while unwise, would not be ground to attack him - making Martin the instigator and Zimmerman would be defending. The attorney also said that Zimmerman's injuries are not life threatening. They don't have to be - you can use deadly force when you have an honest fear of serious injury or death. Imagine yourself pinned to the ground and punched hard enough to leave black eyes, broken nose and cuts on your head - now do you think it was reasonable for Zimmerman to feel he was at risk of serious injury or death? I've had my nose broken before - it's not fun. It was while sparring. Now, I stayed in and kept sparring, but that's because it's a (relatively) controlled environment and my life is not in danger. Given that same bell-ringing injury (and the loss of breathing through the nose) I can certainly understand why someone with a broken nose and pinned to the floor being punched is going to be in extreme fear.1 point

I can't think of many things more detestable than demonstrating in this manner. It's the wrong place and the wrong time. I hope they all die in a fire. For me, this ranks right up there with the god hates fags people demonstrating at military funerals.0 points
