Hey everyone! My buddy turned me onto this forum, and I can't wait to have another new forum to participate in, learn from and contribute to. My name is Bobby, and I have grown up in the Dayton area but also attend the Ohio State University. I have a 2008 350z. It started as a base model, but that gave me plenty of room to pick the right parts to install down the road. I am finally to the point where I am damn close to being done modding (pfft, we all know that never happens), and can truly enjoy the car in its current form. Anyway, onto the mods: Performance Injen dual long tube intakes HKS exhaust custom cobb retune Suspension, Brakes, Wheels and Drivetrain Stance true style coilovers SPL front camber arms Battle version and SPL rear toe/camber arms Quaife LSD Brembo brake swap off of a wrecked Z Drilled and slotted rotors Stoptech pads Stainless steel lines RBF600 brake fluid 19x9.5/10.5 Volk SF Challenge 255/285 Nitto Invo rubber Sound Pioneer 3200 DVD Amped front rockford fosgate speakers and tweeters JL 10" sub in a zenclosure box Exterior and Interior Custom LED front reflectors 50% front windows, 35% rear and front brow Stillen front splitter Red Bride Gias seats Sparco Harness Bar Takata harnesses 380 rs gas pedal nismo shift knob alcantara ebrake and shifter boots momo ebrake handle NRG radiator cooling plate interior trim pieces wrapped in 3m cf vinyl 3M matte metallic blue vinyl wrap, w/ gloss black wrapped roof and cf wrapped spoiler I am probably forgetting something here or there, but I will update my post if and when I remember what I've missed. I also need to get more pictures since I've completed the vinyl wrap. It is a project we just undertook, and all that is left to finish is the passenger door. Also, please ignore the rear bumper gap. In these pictures it was not fully installed, but has since been 100% re buttoned up http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o661/belder117/02993D02-5929-48B1-A94C-FDADE76A19F5-3364-000001E066C00FF3_zpsab6dcf7b.jpg http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o661/belder117/28294D6E-E0C6-4B29-9982-C557FEECC049-3364-000001DE75946542_zpsb1f44962.jpg http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o661/belder117/6E59CF6A-A90F-48D7-B11D-E7AA34F1FFD7-3364-000001DE72FAC811_zps7bfe858d.jpg http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o661/belder117/84C01CCB-F893-412A-8010-7D889B50DB2F-3364-000001DE701EC337_zps210d3047.jpg http://i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o661/belder117/E0F8CB9E-5BD6-417E-B564-C619105968A4-7395-000003869D135291_zpsa140038a.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/DirtyDawgs/33905123-CDD3-4886-BA27-24A8C4B6C3FC-5166-0000032B37097385.jpg and pictures before the wrap http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/DirtyDawgs/F276593A-FBC3-4004-972A-3AB82C76E01F-3818-000001DED81B355B.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/DirtyDawgs/IMG_1037.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/DirtyDawgs/IMG_1092.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/DirtyDawgs/Screenshot2012-06-10at125920AM.png http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/DirtyDawgs/Screenshot2012-06-10at12039AM.png http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/DirtyDawgs/Screenshot2012-06-10at11745AM.png http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/DirtyDawgs/Screenshot2012-06-10at11858AM.png Please let me know what you think of my ride7 points

I like the new guy. That and I spent a short time in his Infantry Regement. As a LE guy now, I have had been faced with letting guys who I beleive are nuttier than squarel turds go because the did'nt do anything "yet". The mental heath issuse stuff needs to be added to the insta-check data base. Not that it would have helped in this case due to the theft of the weapons used in this case of mass murder. On the plus side here in Ohio we have cops in the schools for the most part. Our SRO's (Student Resorce Officers) are there all the time in the schools we have jurisdiction in. I myself spent a year in that job. in a real shit hole in youngstown too. In one incident a "deal" went bad between in a "freelance pharmaceutical sale" about 300 yards from the school. Well, gunfire followed. After the first few seconds of WTF? passed, I did what what seemed right at the time: Run Towords Gunfire. My old ass must have had a good day because i ran down the shooter (who ditched his gun when he saw me, I recoved it later) and took him into costody. He's doing 13 years in the Federal pen now. These were high school kids I was assighned too, I can't imagine the stress factor if the were as young as the CT victims. My heart goes out to the first responders that day. I guess my point is, evil is out there. Gun laws don't matter to criminals who have a heart for evil. All we can do is have have a better mindset, the intestinal fortitude to face down evil when the wolf is at the door and never quit. A gun control act to disarm all will only add to this problem. The bad guys will not comply. We are responsible to defend life and liberty. All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to stand by and do nothing.2 points

I see the point you're trying to make, but in reality, it doesn't matter what the purpose of the spoon vs a gun is, as both are just objects. It's really a matter of the intent of the person in possention of them. Limiting the product will only do just that but you're still left with a guy who's intent is to kill you. What would be different about the CT incident if AR-15's weren't in existence? Not a damn thing as he would have just found another object to use. See the point? You seriously believe that as strongly today as you did prior to Obama being in office? Seriously? You just validated the previous point. The 2nd amendment is no longer as sacred as it once was and if you believe it is you're mistaken. Illusionist Roy Horn underestimated his tiger....I'm warning you not to do the same with the those in power today. You will get burned. It's just a matter of when. I also stand by there's no need for new laws or "limits" beyond what we have today. As with most everything, this situation was about poor judgement on many parts, especially the mom who is IMO the one to blame along side her son. She exhibited poor judgement letting him handle a firearm, and had no respect for those around her to allow him access to them. Very poor control over her personal life, son and her guns. Damn shame. I'm 99% doubtful of that. He could have pulled off just as much damage with his two pistols and ammo. The principle that charged him would be dead with any of these guns. If his intent was really to kill a 6yr old he could have had a 30 round .22 cal and done it. Again, overkill. He could have easily fired off less less rounds and still killed them all. His victims were all UNARMED and that's what makes your last statement true. Define "that much fire" How's using a .223 rifle on a 6yr old or at point blank range on a teacher any different than a Glock and/or a Sig Sauer on them ? It's not. He can lay down tons of fire, using multiple guns and reload in between without any difference in the outcome other than perhaps less bullet holes in the same dead bodies. Sorry to be so grim, but it's true. So how do you feel if the gov't begins to demand registrations fro ALL of the above? http://assets.motherjones.com/interactives/projects/2012/12/updated-mass-shootings/final_weapons2.png So by your standards, perhaps these "assault weapons" aren't the ones Obama and his clan should be going after? How's that make you feel in terms of your previous statement that handguns aren't going anywhere? Again, don't underestimate anyone, ESPECIALLY Obama.....he's a liar and everyone with a brain knows it. He LIED about this years 9/11 attack and that's clear. Even Hillary knows she's going to take the heat for all of it and is just this week pulling some BS Stunt tactic. I bet if you ask the husband of the principle, he'd debate that with you right now. If she had a gun, she wouldn't have rushed his AR15 toting ass with her unarmed body. She'd have shot him dead. I see your point about potential mishaps but think about how many teachers are CCW Holders, hunters, and are skilled with guns. It's not like being a teacher automatically means you have no business carrying a gun. Just some counter points.1 point

Its all about budget and requirements. For the average person/hunter, Nikon is plenty and Nikon has decent glass in some of their models. The thing to remember, is that every person has a different set of requirements and expectations and if the scope meets your expectations/budget, then thats a good scope for you. Just like everything else, the more you get into something the more your requirements/expectations may change. Ive been lucky enough to get to play with and get exposure to almost every scope on the market including the uber expensive ones in the $2k-$3k+ range. The more exposure you get, the more you learn and the more you can start to see the differences in glass quality, tracking, features, construction, etc. So again, if you are happy with it and it meets your requirements, than thats good for you so go out and enjoy the hell out of it.1 point

Massad Ayoob 12,DEC.,12 The atrocity at the Connecticut elementary school will not be the last such horror, nor was it the first or even the worst. Go back to the year 1764, in what is now Franklin County, Pennsylvania. The first: during Pontiac’s Rebellion in the wake of the French and Indian War, four “warriors” entered a schoolhouse and slaughtered the headmaster and some ten children. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac%27s_Rebellion_school_massacre . The worst: in 1927, a crazed monster beat his wife to death, then triggered a bombing in an elementary school in Bath, Michigan, killing some 38 kids and several adults. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disaster . I’ll repeat what I said in the Wall Street Journal op-ed section and on the Today show in 1999, after the Columbine High School atrocity: if we simply prepared teachers to handle this type of crisis the way we teach them to handle fires and medical emergencies, the death toll would drop dramatically. We don’t hear of mass deaths of children in school fires these days: fire drills have long since been commonplace, led by trained school staff, not to mention sprinkler systems and smoke alarms and strategically placed fire extinguishers that can nip a blaze in the bud while firefighters are en route. In the past, if someone “dropped dead,” people would cry and wring their hands and wail, “When will the ambulance get here?” Today, almost every responsible adult knows CPR; most schools have easily-operated Automatic Electronic Defibrillators readily accessible; and a heart attack victim’s chance of surviving until the paramedics arrive to take over is now far greater. The same principle works for defending against mass murders…it just doesn’t work HERE, because it is politically incorrect to employ it HERE. After the Ma’alot massacre in 1974, Israel instituted a policy in which volunteer school personnel, parents, and grandparents received special training from the civil guard, and were seeded throughout the schools armed with discreetly concealed 9mm semiautomatic pistols. Since that time, there has been no successful mass murder at an Israeli school, and every attempt at such has been quickly shortstopped by the good guys’ gunfire, with minimal casualties among the innocent. Similar programs are in place in Peru and the Phillippines, with similarly successful results. Some people see the logic in the Israeli approach. Dave Workman does, as seen here: http://www.examiner.com/article/obama-wants-action-regardless-of-politics-after-gun-free-school-zone-tragedy?cid=db_articles . Ann Coulter does, as seen here: http://www.thewrap.com/media/column-post/newtown-school-shootings-ann-coulter-makes-her-case-concealed-carry-laws-69361 . Unfortunately, in this country, logic has been buried under political correctness. Those in power whose ego is invested in brie et Chablis values that include scorn for the peasantry they accuse of “clinging to guns and Bibles” will never see that logic. Children will continue to die in gun-free zones hunting preserves for psychopathic murderers, and the cowardly murderers will continue to surrender or kill themselves as soon as armed good guys show up…far too late.1 point

I disagree with 90% of what Magz says. I however agree with him here, to a point. Do I find it offensive, no. Do I think it's wrong and and immature and somewhat moronic, yes. It is a distress signal, NOT a political statement. Show a little respect for our service members that fight for that flag and know when to fly it upside down.1 point

Just once, I'd like to see a politician stand up and say, "People, no matter what laws are passed, and no matter what guns are banned, you're never going to be able to stop someone that's crazy enough to give their life to take yours. The only thing you can do is prepare yourself, either by arming yourself, or accepting the fact that you're a potential target." Wouldn't that be refreshing...1 point

Just a thought cocaine, crack, heroin are all against the law. Look how well those laws keep them out of the criminal’s hands. There is no way to stop the crazies until they do something that gives them a legal reason. It like the wife that goes to the cops and says my husband is going to kill me. All the cops can say is Sorry there is nothing we can do about it until he does. When it comes down to it your personal safety is your responsibility1 point

I find the upside down flag quite appropriate for our times. Here's a bit I copied from the web that reflects my feelings. I think we should all fly our flags upside down, at least until the White House is vacated by the current inhabitants. The upside down U.S. flag is an official signal of distress. It is not meant to be, and is not officially recognized as any type of disrespect when so displayed for the right reasons. To the contrary, here is the relevant part of the US Code of Laws regarding how to fly the flag when in distress: THE FLAG CODE Title 36, U.S.C., Chapter 10 As amended by P.L. 344, 94th Congress Approved July 7, 1976 § 176. Respect for flag: No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor. (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. Most individuals who have served in the military service of our nation will (or should) recognize this signal. As a result of the many traitors and enemies we as a free people have, both foreign and domestic, as a result of the many unconstitutional acts, legislation and atrocities passed and/or committed against US citizens and their life, liberty and property, and as a result of policies that have allowed (and continue to allow) enemies of this nation to enter in large numbers through a porous border policy, I believe the life, liberty and property of US Citizens are in dire danger and distress. ...that is all. .1 point

Wow. Guns are purely entertainment for me. I tell people that I like to break stuff, and a gun is like a remote-control hammer that allows me to break stuff from far away. I don't even like killing animals - I prefer to get my meat from the grocery store where no animals are harmed. I never plan to use a gun in defense. I have nothing to protect but myself. I'd rather be carried by six than judged by twelve. Folks saying they need their guns for defense from a tyrannical government scare me a little bit, but we're on the same side. The second amendment is a joke when you have people fighting for their "right" to jump through a bunch of hoops and pay fees to carry a gun within a bunch of dotted lines. NFA rules piss me off. I smile a little bit every time some nutjob goes on a shooting spree with a 16" unsuppressed semi (you can call me an asshole for that, I am). Would a suppressed auto SBR have been that much more effective? The crime should be in what you used it for, not having it. Of course I could pay $16,000 for the right to mow down trees in my backyard at 0.30/rd. If I planned to commit multiple felonies anyway I could do some machine work much cheaper. In the face of potential legislation however, my only interest in the most recent shootings was what was used. Like many I had my fingers crossed saying "pleasenotanarpleasenotanarpleasenotanarpleasenotanar." Now if they come out with another AWB along the lines of what Cheech was saying, I will smile a little bit when the next nutjob goes on a shooting spree with a fixed-stock, non-threaded barrel, non-pistol grip, non-bayonet lug Kalifornia-style rifle. It won't be any quantifiably less deadly. In high school I was threatened with a suspension for having a box cutter. The dean of discipline said "you could slash somebody with this" and I said "I could stab somebody with a pencil." If a cop ever pulls me over for "unneccesary acceleration" I am going to tell him that acceleration was completely necessary even if for no reason other than it made me happy. I'm not hurting anybody. This turned into a rambling incoherent response. My point was no I don't need guns, I want guns. What ever happened to the RIGHT of "pursuit of happiness?" As long as my pursuit of happiness doesn't infringe on someone else's pursuit of happiness, leave me the fuck alone.1 point

Yes, and Switzerland also has stricter gun control policies than we do. The sale of automatic firearms, selective fire weapons and certain accessories such as sound suppressors ("silencers") is forbidden (as is the sale of certain disabled automatic firearms which have been identified as easily restored to fully automatic capability). The purchase of such items is however legal with a special permit issued by cantonal police. The issuance of such a permit requires additional requirements to be met, e.g. the possession of a specific gun locker Also-they have NO standing army-they are the army! The Swiss Army has long been a Militia trained and structured to rapidly respond against foreign aggression. Swiss males grow up expecting to undergo basic military training, but they are still regular civilians. When stating facts-lease state all of them. You have CCW, you have the 2nd amendment, no one is taking your right to self defense-just turn in your M-16 as there is no fucking reason for you to have one.-1 points

I'm tired of hearing the counter-arguement against gun control about banning spoons for making people fat, or cars for killing people in accidents, or knives for cutting people. It just doesn't hold water. A gun was designed for one specific thing: killing. Forks, knives, spoons, diesel fuel, fertilizer, or whatever else you come up with has been designed for a purpose other than killing. Anything in the environment can kill you if used properly (or improperly if you prefer) so it's not a matter of 'I could kill you with a toothpick too, so it won't make a difference if you take my semi-automatic rife with 30 round magazine off the market.' Nobody is advocating removing the 2nd Amendment. You will always have a right to bear arms, but even the Supreme Court has ruled that there can be limits put on what type of weapons citizens can posses. The debate is about where to put that limit and should everyone in the population be subject to the same limits. Had the shooter not had this type of weapon it's plausable that the staff that confronted him could have put a stop to it while sacrificing their lives. For all the people killed they said each one had between something like 3 to 11 rounds in them. That's a lot of gunfire in a short period of time. None of them stood a chance. The ongoing or upcoming issue is should anyone on the street be allowed to possess something that can lay down this much fire. Hand guns, hunting rifles, and shotguns are going nowhere. Yes, crazy people are everywhere and they are unpredictable. And a guy in China did just stab a bunch of elementary school kids. But guess what? They lived. All it took was one failed shoe bomb and we all take our shoes off at the airport. How many mass shootings in public have taken place in the last few years (or even the last month) but we advocate going forward with business as usual? Also, let's put to rest this idea of arming the teachers. A teacher has no business carrying a firearm into a classroom. Way too much can go wrong, and I don't want a teacher making a kill/no-kill decision, or even worse, have their gun stolen from them by a student. The only guns allowed in schools should be on a police officer.-1 points
