I am about to turn 24 and appear to be an anomaly among other people in my age group. I did a engineering tech vocational program for jr & sr year of highschool and also attended college full time my senior year. A few months after hs graduation, I was lucky enough to get a mechanical detailing position and was able to prove myself through a lot of hard work and drive. I worked at that place for almost two years before they shut down and was able to get a job as the lone person in engineering for a mid size machining company but had a 3 hr total commute each day. After 6 months, I left there for a job offer that I received at a fairly decent sized company as mechanical designer. I did that for a year and worked my ass off, soaked up every bit of knowledge that I could, took initiative, made decisions, and ended up getting promoted to a project engineer 2 years ago. Since then I have done very very well for myself and have become one of the go to guys. I strive every day to improve our product, find cheaper ways to do things, simpler ways to build what we do. A lot of the guys that work for me have their bachelors and suck at even the basic things that you would think someone with an engineering degree would be able to do. These guys are afraid to make a decision not matter how big or small it may be. We have guys that seem to think that they can come in, do lazy sloppy work, go home at the end of 8 hours and be completely fine with it. It baffles me how people don't have any pride in the work that they do any more. It seems to me that people go to school now days and expect everything to be handed to them just because they went to school and got a degree like they were always told they had to. Having a degree isn't jack shit without some type of drive and motivation.2 points

that girl is 18 or 19 and decently hot. No way she is any more than AVERAGE in bed. Hot chicks take everything for granted and expect to be worshiped. In my experience, girls with self esteem issues are WAY better in bed, because they are desperately seeking approval, and frankly can't afford to say 'no' to kinky shit. Finding a girl who is a liveable balance of hot and crazy really tough. That one's not going to be hot enough OR crazy enough... In 3 or 4 years, maybe.2 points

There can be no compromise between freedom and government controls; to accept “just a few controls” is to surrender the principle of inalienable individual rights and to substitute for it the principle of the government’s unlimited, arbitrary power, thus delivering oneself into gradual enslavement. You already said you were done earlier but yet here you still are. Funny how you call a conservative a Nazi, that makes about as much sense as a soup sandwich. You are giving the good folks down in Zanesville a bad name, I would expect and imagine you are in the minority as a liberal in that area. If Ted disagreed with Vietnam and didnt want to fight in the war, then more power to him. I disagree with this complete nightmare that we have made in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I would avoid the military like the plague if I were asked to fight in that never can win war. So what do you do "now" since you are out of the military, do you bring anything good to this country or your community other than voicing your 1st amendment right? You sound like a bitter little troll to me, did you enjoy your Presidents completely worthless State of the Union address lastnight?1 point

OP, do you also get mad at companies that don't offer military discounts?1 point

^this^ If he winds up alive there is going to be some 'splaining to do for sure. Maybe he was a master rouge ninja turned wronged police officer and this was his plan all along. Now you have a great beginning to a good movie. All we need now is for Obama to hold another 'beer party' with the LA pd Chief and Dormer in the rose garden and all will be set right again.1 point

Hey Brian this is TJ and not Nate. I appreciate where you are coming from, and like a good spirited conversation. That said if you want to criticize me for slinging shit you may want to consider your comments about Graves and Nate first. Here is a link to the 2009 rule book. Section 2.9 covers the frame (same wording as the 2013 rule book) and the tank is covered in section 2.12 - b. (same wording as the 2013 rule book). As we both know Mladin won the championship in 2009. www.amaproracing.com/assets/RR_Rules_2009.pdf Graves builds their bikes to the absolute limit of the rules, which is exactly what they and every other team should be doing. I had a very close look at the Graves bikes and did not see a single thing that crossed the line. If you have proof of their cheating please put up the evidence and I will congratulate you for doing so. I hope you can understand my skepticism until I see the proof. Sorry about the Cardenas comment, that was probably a bit low.1 point

This! I used to live my life by this line of thinking. I found several who were a nice balance and some who were very unbalanced, but I also lived by the rule never marry crazy, so I traded crazy and low self esteem for a mean one with a nice butt.1 point

Thanks for making everything so clear and "logical", and you are spot on IMHO. Patriot turns into patriotism, and neither requires serving in the armed forces.1 point

So are you saying that you're a veteran? If so, thank you very much for serving. My dad is retired USAF, and tried to get me to join up. I didn't, so I must not be a patriot. I love this country, and it tears me apart to see what is happening to it. But, I'm not a patriot. I think that the Pledge of Allegiance should be part of morning announcements in every school in this country. But I can't be a patriot, because I didn't serve directly (though I went to every new assignment with my parents for 18 years, and went to 14 schools in 12 years). I wish that better government classes were taught in schools, so people would understand whats going on. So people would understand what this country was founded upon. But I can't be a patriot because I didn't serve. I actually agree with you about Veterans keeping our country free, and I can't imagine the frustration that they must feel by having their powers neutered and being told that they can't carry loaded weapons in some combat zones. Under W, and under Obama. They've both worked at knocking us down from being a superpower. Our military is the base of being a superpower. The thought that you have to have served in the military in order to love your country and be proud of it is preposterous. And just because someone served in the military doesn't automatically mean that they ARE patriotic. The Muslim who shot up Ft Hood a couple of years ago is a good example. And no, I'm not questioning your patriotism, nor anyone else who served. I'm just making that point that your blanket statement doesn't hold water.1 point
