  4. The trial appears to be relatively down-to-earth compared to the other big trials (Anthony, OJ, Michael Jackson etc) Something that the prosecutor seems to be trying to do is suggest that Zimmerman was on top during the scuffle, and Martin was the one on the ground getting beat. This doesn't work for me for three reasons: - All the physical evidence is consistent with Zimmerman being on the ground and getting beat. M had no beating injuries, Z did. M had dirty knees, Z did not. Z had the broken nose and head injuries consistent with his version of events. - They have not accused Z of being on top, yet are happy to let witnesses say that they didn't know who was on top. Sh!t or get off the pot - either you're saying he was on top, or you're not. - The only witness to give a definite answer on who was on top/bottom said that the man in red was on the bottom - that was Z One thing said by the girlfriend fried a synapse in my head that I'm glad also went off in the defense's minds too... She said that she was sure Z attacked M not the other way around because, she said, that if M was going to start a fight he would tell her, hang up on her and ask her to call back and check on him. That made me wonder; "How many fights does M usually start, that he has an arranged method of her checking up on him afterwards?" Either that is true and that paints M as a regular fighter (which contradicts any testimony that is was not a violent person), or it has never happened and she is lying about how he handles fights while on the phone. If I was on the jury I'd take the "This is how he handles fights" testimony as proving him to be prone to violence. She also hurt her credibility when she insisted that she heard Z punch M on the phone, yet under cross she was unable to indicate how she could tell the difference between who punched who. She agreed that it was impossible for her to know who smacked who. She she insists that Z smacked M. This tells em that she is not merely testifying from memory, but adding a layer of her own interpretation. This is troubling and would lead me, as a juror, to discount any testimony from her that indicated who did what unless she could prove how she knew which way round it was. This would eliminate any testimony on whose voice it was was calling for help. This essentially renders her testimony moot, as the remainder of her testimony matches Z's account. Also notably absent is any mention of the gun in her calls, consistent with Z's story that the gun came out during the final seconds of the fights. So far the neighbors have all just said it was two men fighting. One said the larger person was on top, making her believe it was Z. She then said her idea of who was bigger or smaller was based upon the picture of M in the media in the following weeks- the 12 year of picture. Upon seeing a more recent picture of M she stated that she could not longer tell who was on top. One other neighbor so far has given an opinion on who was on top/bottom, stating the person on bottom was in red - which was Z, and is consistent with Z's account, and he further reiterated a the guy on top was engaged in an MMA-style Ground and pound. That testimony, unless refuted, might just be the most critical in the entire trial. At this point the prosecution is officially relying solely on the theory that because Z followed M that all events that followed were blamed on Z. They have repeatedly tried to suggest that Z attacked M, however that puts them in conflict with the physical evidence and not one witness so far has put Z on top until after the gunshot where Z was checking M's status. They have failed to make any kind of a compelling case to suggest that Z initiated the fight. So far no witness nor piece of physical evidence has refuted any part of Z's story.

  5. So I'm driving my car about 2 in the morning last night on a road I don't know and it's raining like crazy. Can barely see out the windshield, when all of a sudden I realize there's water across the road. I tried stopping but it was too late. Water came gushing up on the hood and the motor stops immediately. Luckly the car behind me was able to stop. They help me push my car out of the water and I try to start it. Nothing, just clicking, from the solenoid, I think. I phone a friend with a trailer and we get it home. Today I started tearing into it. Take off the air filter cover and "shit!", filter is soaking wet. Remove the filter box and tubing to the throttle body and water starts pouring out it. Only gets worst from here. So water is definitely in the motor. So I remove the surge tank on top of the intake manifold and the spark plugs. Sure enough, one cylinder is full of water. Why only one? I'm guessing it must have been in the downward motion when the water came in. The rest had a little water, but not much. At this point I still had hope, cause I knew the motor wasn't going to crank over if water was on top of a piston, cause it's not designed to compress water. So I started sucking and blowing the water out with the thinking that the motor should atleast crank over now and blow the rest of the water out. That was a no go, still won't crank. I tried rotating the motor manually with a wrench. Wouldn't budge, locked up. DAMN IT! Drained the oil to see how much water was in the bottom end. Surprisingly, no water. I just changed the oil last weekend, and it still looked new. So I dropped the oil pump pan and found a layer of milky oil in the bottom of the pan. So water did get to the bottom, but not much. And that's where I'm at. I'm thinking I have atleast one bent rod and that is what's keeping the motor from turning over. I'm not doing shit on it tomorrow, but Monday, I'm going to drop the exhaust so I can get the oil pan out and hopefully I can see what's going on. Oh yeah forgot, I can see the valves through the intake manifold and they look fine. Took the valve covers off and was able to push them down. Doesn't appear to be anything broken on the top end. If it is a bent rod, I just hope it didn't screw up the cylinder wall. So if there's any mechanics out there, I'll take any advice you have!

  9. adjusting your diet can really help out a lot. aim for 30 grams of fiber a day and lots of water. at least 2 litres per day. 3 would be better. water will soften your stuff making it easier to pass, and straining is the last thing you want to be doing. try to avoid soda, alcohol and caffeine as much as you can. those things will dehydrate you, and you want to be hydrated. avoid stuff that you know causes irritation or gives you the runs. try to avoid fatty greasy stuff as much as you can too. fruits and vegetables, nuts, whole grains etc are good at keeping symptoms down. stay away from fast food as much as you can too. exercise also helps too. try to get at least 30 min of moderate intensity a day. you dont have to hit the gym and start pumping iron even... take a short jog, go for a nice walk or go for a bike ride if you can. check around on the internet there is lots of good info about hemorrhoids and diet.

  10. Following someone does not justify getting your ass beat. It might not be smart, and it might be a likely result depending on who you follow and when, but it still does not justify said beating. The operator told Z that "We don need you to (follow)". Then subsequently asked where M was and where he was going. Z explained in an interview the night of the shooting that he was not told to stay in the car, was just told not to follow M. He further stated that he left his car to go look for a street name so he could tell the police where to meet him, not because he was following M. It's something I would consider to be a "convenient" excuse if not for the fact that he used it right after the shooting. I give extra credibility to anything that a suspect say right after the event (before he had a chance to talk to anyone except the police) compared with stuff he says much later (after he's had a chance to think of a good story). If he was chasing M then M would have a case for defending himself, but I've not seen any credible evidence of that (the lady who heard the running never mentioned it before in any prior statement or deposition - it was surprising new testimony at the trial). This is what I mean by trusting things said before the person has a chance to think of a good story. I an VERY dubious of new testimony now that was never mentioned before. The other thing in Z's favor is that that both he, and his neighborhood, had a recent established pattern of calling in tips about suspicious persons and they had discovered/prevented crimes and resulted in arrested. That pattern matched how Martin was handled. They had an arrest soon before the shooting where people in the area called in a suspicious person(s) and they followed at a distance - the police arrived and made the arrest(s),. Without the following they would have got away. The fact that Z was continuing what had proven to be an effective technique for handling suspicious persons definitely works in his favor.

  12. MID-SEASON BUMP We're a 7-week break for OMRL, and I've won 1 race, and crashed more times than I can count. Only unanticipated cost so far has been $25 for a folding shift-lever to replace the stocker that I bent beyond use :-P If anyone is looking to get out and race, I have been seeing a ton of $500 XR's on craigslist, and you could have them track-ready with another $200 in parts (figure front wheel + scooter tires + brake shoes is about $200). Next round is the 2nd weekend in August, so you'd have time to fully prep a bike if you act soon. The small bikes are every bit as fun as the big bikes were, and it is way more fun to race every 2 weeks than it was to try and scrape together enough money to race once a month at best! With transponder rental, etc. CRP race days cost me $55 for two classes...

  17. Zero play is probably unrealistic in a real world mechanical sense. All parts that move relative to other parts require clearance, otherwise they wouldn't move. That being said, a noticeable/measurable amount of play in lower fork legs would indicate that your slider bushings are seriously worn, maybe even perhaps non-existent. Are you positive the play is in the lower fork legs (relative to the upper legs)? Possible that the movement you feel is in the steering head bearings?

  21. THANK YOU. As said, if anyone wants to or not to, its up to them. If i dont wear a lid, and you do, ok. if i do and you dont, ok. Just saying, My Uncle Dave has been in OVER 60 mc wrecks. most were other driver/rider eroor. That dude hasnt ever wore a lid. law or no law, he has been sideswiped and is now legless on the left side but still here to tell his tale. Anyways, back to racing..... Since This is my thread and I am a grown up, I will back away from arguing with trolls. and the lil red and green boxes, o well, hit all my posts as red, i dont care. i thought they were something else. oops. wasnt trying to harm anyones lil online reputation. oops So since we are back to racing, I have some awesome news. At least I feel it is AWESOME news. I have so far found a lether jacket and a ol racing suit. AND a new tank set is being made and for these 3 gentlemen, I am thrilled for. I knew some great things were to come and I knew I would achieve my goal this year. I have a friend who MAY have found the shifter I need and that is a big burden lifted. I cant wait to be back out on the road riding and stopping to help fellow 2 wheeled riders out. I also just finished a set of carbs I could ve used a little help form you older honda riding guys. So now I have a Harley to work on for a friend and another friend who wants to build a drag bike. His is a Kawasaki so I might need a little help coming up on that aspect. Racing my Harley will be interesting. With the engine being mild to moderate, I am thinking a qtr mile run should be somewhere around 12-14s but who knows. could run 16s or could run 11s. For the rest of this year I will be working mainly on take offs and setting the bike up. Burnouts has me a little worried. hope the brake works great. Im sure a few on here would pay to see me fail but I will get back up and keep on doing it. So as we are back to racing hopefully, I would like to know some info on making a ignition kill cord. Whats the best thing to us? kind of things. I was told that a lot of street guys will just tie a string around the plug wires but that seems like it could go bad real easily. So what yall think?

  22. Wow, this got out of hand quick. I'm more interested in racing in any form (even 2 drunks in a 100 yard foot race outside a bar at 2am in January) than I am in watching the fuse get lit on somebody's tampon, but the fuse got lit on this one. I will weigh in on this as a person who wears helmets all the time and split one in a crash 19 years ago. Less than a quarter mile after pulling out of my driveway I came over a hill to find a car stopped in my lane. I really don't remember anything about the wreck but I was told later that I was going 45mph when I parted ways with my bike ( a beautiful blue/green/white 92 ZX7). I was told I landed on my feet facing the wrong direction but still going about as fast as I was on the bike. I immediately got slammed to the pavement head first. I woke up in the hospital that night with a broken foot and the worst headache I've ever had. The doctor told me they needed to keep me to monitor my brain swelling. It had swollen up as far as it could and if it were to go anymore they would need to start cutting holes in my skull to relieve pressure. The next day they showed me my helmet. It had split from the base in the back all the way around the top and stopped about an inch or two from the eye port on the front. I was also informed by the same doctor that my brains would have been all over the road had I not been wearing a helmet and that I had taken the hardest head-hit that he had seen somebody live through. I tend to think he was right because I know how much pain I experienced as a result of this wreck. I remember pulling out of my driveway and then waking up in the hospital that night. Everything in between is lost. Did I get whiplash from my helmet? I really doubt it and if I start experienceing pain from it years from now (or even today) I'll deal with it and continue to ride because helmets have afforded me these extra days and years that I probably wouldn't have had otherwise. What you do is your business and I honestly don't care. I know several people who don't wear helmets whether they ride Harleys or everything else. It's your life live it how you want. I just thought I'd weigh in with what I KNOW about helmets. Can we get back to racing now????

  30. OK. I'm not going to get defensive here, but you seem rather matter of fact on your post so I will reserve the right to do the same. The fee for taking the course through the state is now $50. It is subsidized through motorcycle license fees. We are a "private provider" of the MSF/Motorcycle Ohio course. The class and the results are the same, but we do not use your tax dollars to offset a portion of the cost of the course. Iron Pony Riding Academy, to the best of my knowledge, is the lowest priced "private provider" in our state with our $200 introductory rate. Most programs are $300 or $350. I will not go into details, but I can assure you it costs more than $200 per student to go through the class. The instructors do not work for free, we have overhead in the building that houses our classroom, (it is not in the same building as Iron Pony) the cost of the range and maintenance associated with it, Insurance premiums, loaner helmets, 15 brand new motorcycles, (imagine that!) and course supplies, materials and equipment. I am a huge fan of the MSF curriculum. I encourage everyone to take the course. I myself took the beginner course several years ago when a friend asked me to teach him to ride. I told him I would not, but that I would attend a beginner class with him. At that time I had held a MC endorsement for more than 25 years. Like many sports and activities where "muscle memory" is needed the experts say your should learn from a professional trainer first, that learning improper form or technique when self taught or taught by a friend is challenging to overcome. Like many on OR I learned to shoot from my dad, he was safety conscience, but he himself lacked professional training- it wasn't until years later that I learned I had horrible trigger discipline. If you are going to seriously pursue something that is potentially dangerous to you or others you should be responsible enough to become reasonably proficient. OK, so why would you pay an extra $150 dollars to take the course at Iron Pony Riding Academy rather than the state? I think we have the cream of the crop instructors. All MSF/Motorcycle Ohio instructors are certified, but Iron Pony Riding Academy is not obligated to allow certified instructors to teach the way the state is. We have hand picked our instructors, I know they are the best of the best. I'm certain if you have some ability (being able to ride a bicycle helps) our instructors can help you learn the basic skills that will start you on the path to a safe, skillful and confident life of motorcycle riding. We have a really nice classroom and range, our facility is new and conducive to relaxing and learning the curriculum. We have brand-spanking-new-motorcycles, if any of you have taken the course somewhere else and they used beat motorcycles you understand my point. I'm going to give you a cool Iron Pony Riding Academy T-shirt. You are going to have fun. In addition to learning skills that will serve you well for the rest of your life, you are going to enjoy developing these skills. The flexibility of a fairly open schedule, I have spots available, right now, no waiting, no standby. As others have said, please take the course. It not only makes you a better and safer rider, it will help you enjoy motorcycling more. It might be the difference between riding for a couple of years (how many people do you hear say they "use to ride"?) and riding for the rest of your life. If Iron Pony does not make money on this why do it? I could easily sit here and spout some romantic notion about "giving back" and supporting motorcycling and those are good reasons, but a bit clichéd. We want to create new riders in the local marketplace. We want to help you discover motorcycling and then become a source for the things that allow you to enjoy it.

  32. Ok, well, Damn Some of yall need to realize something about fast and motorcycles. Now Im not trying to be a smartass or a jerky attitude, BUT here is the cold hard facts, A> Harley Davidson and Indian were the first 2 race bikes. B> hence the name SPORT in Sportster, they were the first Sports bikes here in the states. Granted, the HD corp dont give a flying rats anus about speed and the cunsumer. I am not a fan of stock Harleys or really evos are not my cup of tea. America started mc racing and perfected it for a long time before Japs and Brits brought their stuff here. I dont care what anyone rides but if its a friend, of course Id bust their balls for riding tea or rice rockets. Its fun. I dont go up to strangers and say "hey dude, jap bikes suck" I deserve the same. C> My bike in its day was a very fast and the most commonly used engine in mc racing. Now on to better things, I am going ET racing, there is no heads up racing around so wheather I'm slowest or the fastest, I have the same shot. ET drag racing is all about consistency. Things like set ups and such things are key. I have a rigid, I explained all that but, its ALL I have and ALL I can work with. I know all about amra, a and AHDRA folding up. A lot of racers stopped. My opinion, its cool to race an all aHarley event but Id rather beat the Japanese and British machines at the far end. In Bracket or ET racing, fastest dont always win and sometimes its the slowest of the day I am on the north side close to I-71 and weber road AND a BIG THANKS those who contribute positive. Hell, never know when one of these slow old Harleys cruises up and pulls over to save your day, I already pushed a honda home and wrenched it to health for a total stranger. if its 2 wheels its a mc to me

  33. go back and re read that post. i NEVER ONCE said I refuse to wear a lid. I just dont HAVE ONE. I will have to find my old info though. Just to prove something about helmets. My Bell I used in car racing was stolen. a badass bell dominator. but you can call Shoei, Simpson, Vega, and the Kentucky Bikers Association and talk to Jay Huber about helmets. The best quality helmet, is ONLY gurenteed for 12mph. If a 5 ft 9 inch man or woman falls from standing up forward, they fall at 17mph. I was part of going to the KY state cap in the later half of the 90s to lobby against helmet laws. It shouldnt be mandatory. Its your brain, you do with it as you please. Now with that said, would it be SAFER to wear a helmet and shorts n a wife beater OR pants, and no helmet? answer, neither. You're on a mc, if you hit the front end of a school bus at 60-80mph, how well is that helmet going to protect ya? OR, say you are riding down the road, minding your own business and you have on your full body leathers, a helmet, neck brace, gloves, racing boots and a life jacket just added i for kicks and some jerk runs a red light and smashes you with their prius, you tell me how good all that gear is when your chest is through your back and your legs and head gets torn off. just saying. not always are helmets a good thing. Now one more piece of verified facts, a helmet without an accident is worse than not. think of the air pressure lifting on the bottom of the lid and pushing your neck back. puts a lot of presure on your neck. again, just saying. I have no problems with helmets but its MY right to decide. do you understand what im getting at? not trying to be rude but just some facts for you. Now, off in the woods or a race track, you wear a helmet so your brain pan dont smack up against a roll bar or flying debris dont take your face off. it would be dumb to go lidless in the woods because branches sticking out and rocks and dirt flying. i think it is up to the rider. if YOU hurt yourself and your brain comes leaking out, its YOUR fault, not mine, but if you ride a lot and later in life you have a major neck issue, again, your decision. i dont care who wants or dont want to ride with me. thats a real motorcyclists words right there. o wait, i dont know ANY bikers who would not ride with someone because they dont wear a lid. if they do that, they re a fony. bikes are bikes and bikers are bikers. there are a lot of different types of each out there. see what i mean man?

  34. ok, wow, that may have read wrong. Ok, i will admit myself, helmets do save a life and they are good for certain happenings. AGAIN, crazy, we have this thing about reading. I stated in racing and off road they keep heads from banging and flying debris. shit, they do that in hockey, football and baseball. so what, helmets are not all bad, they are not all so great either. for every action, theres a counter action. duh, if you go slide down the road/track, a good pair of leathers, boots, gloves and a helmet is really going to be nice. a semi head on at 90, aint gonna friggiin matter. thats my point. it is every persons right to decide. I wouldnt mind wearing one. IF I HAD ONE. I dont. I guess I was lucky. Anyone want to go buy me a helmet, I'll gladly wear it, with certain stipulations. nothing pink, mohawked or anything too exotic. But I dont have one. Even if I had my Bell, I wouldnt wear it on a mc on the street Migit, can ya make that a hooter and come over? hahaha. Anyways, guys if YOU want and what I want was the same, there would be no debates in the word. I know I SHOULD wear helmets and all this but facts are facts. I dont ad I'm here telling you I dont. I will get one asap, how about that? Is that going to drop the helmet subject????

  35. dude, you really need reading and comprehension skills lessons. Nope, im not mad, you actually helped prove a good solid point. Some folks just cant handle life without having to have everyone doing as they do. its a waste man, let life and people be who they are. but you wont, you will just troll and troll looking for bs to start man, I ahve seen your kind way too often. all you do is sit on the net and troll and harass folks for nothing but to make others as miserable. yer just too cool. a real cool guy. Go look up neck and spine foundation and see what they have to say about the long term stress on your neck that a helmet causes. also look into a lot of things to do with helmets. while they do good, they cause harm. go take your helmet off, ride down the road and hit the brakes. now, go do it again with your helmet and tell me how much more force gets put on your neck. in many cases there has been reported whiplash and severe neck injury from the extra weight on your neck. things to think about for your next post. im sure itll be how retarded i am and how you re too cool to ride with me. a, wouldnt want ya to anyway. b, you re too stuck up to have a good time and c, you seem like a bsa to me. maybe other suck up to ya or follow your pitiful example. Its sad to see a man cant post a thread about racing without some spamming troll patrolling around acting as a little child. I have no issues with anyone wanting to wear a lid so i really dont see why the so called bikers cant seem to wrap their pathetic little warped minds around the fact that we are not all the same. for shits sake man, grow up people. Whats funny is the dumbshit comments. I really think a few of yall need to go back to school and learn to read. Gotta knock someone down because they dont believe in your every belief, wtf? this is why many nations hate Americans, because the sheep have to flock together and try making every person think as they think. Its not going to happen. While you preach brotherhood and all this garbage and you care about members, ok, have enough respect to not keep posting the same stupid posts. but i get it, trolls have nothing else to do but sit on their perch and troll all day. While steve butter head likes to preach he rides more, im not in doubt he loves to ride a weiner but i dont see how the dude rides so much since everything he does is keep trolling. Troll for life is his motto. Its fine, kick me out, block me, it wont hurt my feelings. No wander harley dudes get such a bad name, we dont put up with lames, we put them in their places. but little screen warriors can keep being petty and immature, i havent got the time for the bull crap. i have a bike to finish and meet yall on the road and see who has things to say to my face about my helmet. I enjoy a good debate but this thread was a racing thread. But I will put it out once again, anybody with a decent helmet, if i can buy it cheap enough, ill ride with one. Believe it or not, I had the talk with my wife not long ago. I would like to find a nice lid. I dont want one of these for looks or to pass certain state laws helmets. id like to have a good helmet just for the fact, ya never know what can happen. Its my decision though. So again, Ill throw the offer out, if helmets are so great and i MUST need one, help a brother out. o wait, i guess i ride the wrong brand to be considered a brother by a few here. Sad. I have never once looked down on any man or woman for the eqpt they have or dont have. but its probably the same group telling me to get a helmet thats doing wheelies down the interstate putting many lives at risk. i will warn ya, i will never put up with wheelies and stunt riding on public streets. helmet or not, i dont feel the need to put someones family at risk being evel kneivel. but back to racing, I MIGHT have found a set of leathers to use which would be a big help. I have a pair og full leather gloves so i should be good there. they re iron pony specials but will work fine i imagine. helmet i guess is next on the gear side. 3/4 or full face will work. but back to racing. Actually, im back to building.

  38. I screen warrior from my JOB. You know makin money so I can buy parts instead of digging them out of the trash heap and being able to ride my functioning bike. I'll say everything and anything said in this thread to you in person quite frankly cause its not even that bad lol. You make me giggle wanna be racer. Drag racing is boring to me but if you wanna meet at a real track I'd be up for it. Oh wait, helmets and proper gear are needed at those as well as being able to pass inspection

  39. I will do the same in person too not bashful at all. I meet you anytime anywhere and spank that ass even with my busted tranny no suspension. I run circles around you want to talk shit about trolls. You've been on here a week looks like someone's letting their bull dog mouth overload their puppy dog ass as well as trolling yourself. I'm so glad my tax dollars go to help support you and not only do I get fucked over by folks like you who don't work with my taxes but I also produce the food you eat so the next time you have a glass a milk remember someone had to work to get it to you.
