Having never seen this till now. I would view it as the dog charged the officers and then stopped once the officers noticed it (face to face contact) Once the dog had a primal advantage side/rear of the officer it lunged and is uncertain if mouth was open due to the distance and video quality. However, I would consider this an aggressive act if any dog did that to my family. The owner see's whats going on and try's to shoo the dog away knowing how it is acting. Was it reasonable for the officer to believe he was about to be bitten? The dog and officer do approach each other and the dog lunges again with its mouth open, which can be seen and the officer fires and shoots it. If yes, was it reasonable for the officer to fire a shot to stop that bite? Yes, Given the aggressive nature displayed towards the officers and size/bulk of the dog. If it had actually bitten anyone, it would have caused serious physical harm. Was it reasonable to fire the 3 follow-up shots? With an imminent physical threat, given the proximity of the dog and being unsure if a single shot will stop the threat... yes. You can't risk the safety and physical well being of officers or pedestrians given the nature of the animal.

I get those thoughts and concerns, I really do. My mom says the same every time she finds out my daughter was on the bike with me. Here's the thing though, she's going to do it sooner or later with or without me. I'd rather it be with me because I know my skillset. If not with me she'll get a ride sooner or later from the punk kid at school that thinks he's Matt Maladin or the neighbor boys douche bag father with the Sportster that thinks he's Evil Kanevil. She's rode with me for years which in turn has made her a great passenger, there's no one I'd rather have on the back now. She likes to go fast and she knows how to lean. She's been on several of the Coshocton rides and I've passed a number of people here with her on the back because they were going too slow. But again I know my skill and limit as well as her ability. Everybody is different and you gotta do what's good for you and your kid but I look at it the same as many do with guns. Expose them to it now under your supervison so there's no urge later when you're not there. Can something happen? Hell yes. I am scared to crash with her but if it happens then atleast we will be together when it happens and we'll go together doing something we love together and I wouldn't want it any other way.

You're wrong. This forum is not without trolls, true, but Butters is not one of them. He is simply trying to make you see the error of your ways regarding helmets and safety gear. You see, this is not a national forum full of faceless members. Most of us regular contributors are friends who have met and rode with each other and actually care about the welfare of other members. So, when an uninformed noob comes here and starts spouting off about something such as helmet use being dangerous, he has to expect some backlash. Our members take safety gear very seriously for very good reasons. Many of us have had our hides saved by the same gear you are claiming will give us whiplash from heavy braking, which is complete horseshit.

Yes to all 3 questions, my opinion only. Do you wait until the dog bites you to think its reasonable that he's going to bike you? Do you wait until you are dead to think that its reasonable to think that a gun is the proper thing to use against that threat? An injured dog is a very dangerous animal, there are only warning shots in the movies, you don't shoot a threat to your life in the shoulder, you put it down for good, if that means 3 more shots, then I'm ok with that. Ultimately, it was the human owner that put the dog in that situation and that's where the responsibility lies.

I'm glad to hear you are responsible enough to NOT go to the ED of the local hospital for your primary care as many folks do. Right now though, you CANNOT afford to NOT go to a Dr. Can you say for absolute certainty that you know what your problem is? You said you have not been to a Dr. in 12 years? But, you are bleeding from the rectum with pain? Go to a doc, get established, transfer your records and get treated for whatever problem you may have. I would also go so far as to tell you to get a complete physical when you establish a relationship with a doc so they have a baseline as to your history so they can tell if its getting worse or not. Pain, discomfort and bleeding from the rectum is pretty serious business and should never be discounted. You need to be seen like RIGHT NOW. Not sure of your age but I'd also schedule a scope, your doc will most likely do that just to get a fix as to whats up and confirm a DX. Make the call today, get going and keep us posted.

Shaun - what's the deal with the "fog rearsets?" I see in the last picture that there appears to be a bracket that relocates the rearset. Is that what you're talking about? I assume that moves them up and back an inch or so?

Here it's what I'm going to do. .. this is copied and pasted from my Facebook......... I've got a few health issues I need to take care of and almost all of them has to do with poor circulation/blood flow, and one of them is a real pain in the ass. I'm sick of feeling like crap, being tired, having numb and cold feet and hands all the time, getting winded, getting cramps. So it starts NOW, no more excuses, my feet and ankles are healed and I need to get off my ass. For the next 4weeks(till my vacation and bike trip) it's nothing but water, greens, water, fruit, water, no red meat, water and maybe just a couple beers on the weekend as a reward, oh yea did I mention water. I want to do light cardio twice a day (probably on the tread mill). I don't care what I look like I don't even care if I lose weight, I just want to feel better. And when I go in vacation, ill treat myself and eat what I want, then figure out another short term goal when we get back.

I knew some great things were to come and I knew I would achieve my goal this year. I have a friend who MAY have found the shifter I need and that is a big burden lifted. I cant wait to be back out on the road riding and stopping to help fellow 2 wheeled riders out. I also just finished a set of carbs I could ve used a little help form you older honda riding guys. So now I have a Harley to work on for a friend and another friend who wants to build a drag bike. His is a Kawasaki so I might need a little help coming up on that aspect. Racing my Harley will be interesting. With the engine being mild to moderate, I am thinking a qtr mile run should be somewhere around 12-14s but who knows. could run 16s or could run 11s. For the rest of this year I will be working mainly on take offs and setting the bike up. Burnouts has me a little worried. hope the brake works great. Im sure a few on here would pay to see me fail but I will get back up and keep on doing it. So as we are back to racing hopefully, I would like to know some info on making a ignition kill cord. Whats the best thing to us? kind of things. I was told that a lot of street guys will just tie a string around the plug wires but that seems like it could go bad real easily. So what yall think?
