Seventy-two killed resisting gun confiscation in Boston National guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed on April 19th by elements of a para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw. Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group's organizers as "criminals," issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government's efforts to secure law and order. The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed wide-spread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons. Gage issued a ban on military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in the week. This decision followed a meeting in early this month between government and military leaders at which the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of illegal arms. One government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out that "none of these people would have been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and turned over their weapons voluntarily." Government troops initially succeeded in confiscating a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However, troops attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington met with resistance from heavily-armed extremists who had been tipped off regarding the government's plans. During a tense standoff in Lexington 's town park, National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the government operation, ordered the armed group to surrender and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by a single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the right-wing extremists. Eight civilians were killed in the ensuing exchange. Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government forces rather than the extremists for the civilian deaths. Before order could be restored, armed citizens from surrounding areas had descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith, finding his forces overmatched by the armed mob, ordered a retreat. Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore law and order. The governor also demanded the surrender of those responsible for planning and leading the attack against the government troops. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock, who have been identified as "ringleaders" of the extremist faction, remain at large. And this, people, is how the American Revolution began. Yes to all 3 questions, my opinion only. Do you wait until the dog bites you to think its reasonable that he's going to bike you? Do you wait until you are dead to think that its reasonable to think that a gun is the proper thing to use against that threat? An injured dog is a very dangerous animal, there are only warning shots in the movies, you don't shoot a threat to your life in the shoulder, you put it down for good, if that means 3 more shots, then I'm ok with that. Ultimately, it was the human owner that put the dog in that situation and that's where the responsibility lies.2 points

The information he has brought to light shows serious unconstitutional acts that are being committed by our government against the U.S. citizens. NSA maintains it is legal because a "secret" court and judge has approved the programs. The data they are collecting and storing can be used against you or I at anytime that we have done something that the government disapproves of and they will find something in that collected data to use against us. It could be something as simple as an comment or remark taken out of context, websites that you have visited, private conversations you have had, or anything else that you have done electronically. If you think that a guy who gave up a comfy life in Hawaii and a job making over $200k because he wanted to be known? Maybe that is the case but I see it as a guy who has stood up against a power hungry government who no longer gives two shits about the constitution and the principals that this country was founded under.1 point

I like the death penalty option much better, or perhaps the family of victims being allowed to have 10 mins alone with the piece of shit so they can do as they please.1 point

If this were me....I would of lunged back (away from the dog) and put my arm out and yelled very loudly "stop" etc. While at the same time I raise my gun upto his preferred hit area (chest or head). At that point while I had my arm out and yelled stop, if the said dog came at me further I would of put 3-4 rounds in him instantly. OR maybe I'd of chose to tase the dog? We can all say "thats is what I would have done" blah blah blah...but no one can really judge unless they were there having it happen to them.1 point

Hopefully this country has learned from its past and no American will ever have to raise arms against their on countrymen in order to restore or keep their freedoms again. Happy Independence Day.1 point

These people can't be fixed. Don't rehabilitated drug addicts say, they are addicts for life? They always have the desire to abuse, in the back of their mind. I imagine the same is true with sex-offenders, but even more-so. I used that website that tells you where sex offenders are in your neighborhood. I got disgusted and quit. They are EVERYWHERE! Best thing to do is arm your loved ones. Arm them with knowledge. Arm them with steel.1 point

I see no problem here. If a dog tries to bite me, dead dog. Period. Having opposable thumbs and cognitive abilities makes me superior to an animal in a fight scenario. If I am attacked by an animal, doesn't matter why, and I have weapons at my disposal, I will use the most convenient and effective weapon to dispatch the threat.1 point

Disagree completely. It's not a stereotype, it's genetics. Certain dogs are bread for certain for certain jobs. Not every dog fits the mold, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. Dogs bread for herding animals will often try to herd children by nipping at their ankles, terrier breeds are known for chasing smaller animals, etc... Rottweilers are considered a guardian breed, and have been bread to protect their family and domain, same as doberman and German shepherds etc. Your comment about pits isn't accurate either. "sweet" pitbulls fit their stereotype perfectly. They have been bread to be extremely people friendly, regardless of what the media tries to portray. They were bread to be dog aggressive, which is different than human aggressive. Pitbulls are historically so human friendly they were once referred to as nanny dogs. Argue it all you want and deny it all you want, but not breed is the same. You need to know the strengths and weaknesses of a particular breed before you own one. My dog is the nicest dog in the world, but because he's a pitbull I know not to trust him with other dogs unsupervised. You cannot undo hundreds of years of breeding. It's not just "how they're raised" it's how their managed. Don't put your dog in a position to fail. If an intruder broke in here, my pit would lick them to death. Regardless of what you may believe, there's a much higher chance your dog would go on the attack when confronted with an intruder. Rottweilers specifically were bread to herd and guard cattle.. They were also used for protection by people who were traveling in the 1800s. They were then adapted to police work and are used throughout the world for police duties and border security. They weren't bread to sit around on a couch... If every dog was made equal, why do you never see golden retrievers used as guard dogs? Why don't you have huskys used for boar hunting? Certain dogs have certain traits, they are bread certain ways. Have a read www.dogchannel.com/dog-breeds/guardian-dog-breeds.aspx1 point

I always like when somebody is shot and killed who plainly and without a doubt put a cops life and the life of others in danger ask why a different method wasn't used to subdue or diffuse the situation when clearly that person has forsaken all his rights and needs to be stopped when they attack a cop. The same goes for when the police shoot someone when his family cries that he was only carrying a toy pistol. You have a split second to react to a threat, and if an animal or a person is going to attack me, I want the most appropriate weapon to stop that attack forever, not slow it, not wound it, not put it off to the side. You have a man that is being subdued and restrained and his dog lunges and jumps and attacks you. Was he just being playful, is this what this particular dog does when comfronted with strangers? Who knows, I don't want to find out. Want to know how many supposedly "nice" dogs who "never bite" have bitten people. Does the cop wait till he on the ground being mauled thereby causing his partner to stop with the human and help his partner before realizing that using his pistol was maybe a better idea. What are the dept's SOP's concerning attacking dogs? So a cop is going to put his life and the life of his partners in danger simply because people are watching and shooting an attacking dog might appear politically incorrect by using what to subdue this dog? A taser? A night stick?1 point

Maybe we could do a everyone takes a turn leading kinda thing and get a feel for each others pace. Just a thought. I wish I could remember the route Doc put together for our last ride. Was pretty nice. We had a late start but could add more miles if we started earlier.1 point

Bottom line is that there is guilt on both sides. Both parties made bad decisions that lead to the death of a young kid. Zimmerman was over zealous and should have called the cops and went back to minding his own fuckin biz and it is very likely that he was profiling. A lesson for everyone really. Martin should have gotten the hell out of there if he was truely scared. Granted he was not doing anything wrong or illegal regardless of his views on race. With that said. If I were Z, I would have continued to mind my own biz and not profile the kid. If I witnessed something illegal then I would have called the cops. That is what neighborhood watch is supposed to do. Nothing more. It is amazing how much trouble can hapen when you involve yourself in other people's biz. Now if I were TM, and I had some "crazy ass cracker" following me around, I would have knocked that mother fucker out too. The smart thing would have been to run away but I will stand my ground too. A lesson here is to mind your own fucking biz. It amazes me that we are where we are in life and race continues to dominate subjects like this. It also amazes me to watch peoples true colors come out in situations like this, who supposedly are not racist. The comments and racial undertones tell it all no matter how much you try to hide it. There truely are some very ignorant people in this world on both sides of the race card. In my opinion simply pulling the race card is racist no matter who it is. And those who use stereotypes to argue or get their point across are even worse. Should Zimmerman go to jail? I think he should. He overstepped his bounds and someone died as a result. I don't think he deserves life but he deffinitly deserves some form of punishment.0 points

THANK YOU. As said, if anyone wants to or not to, its up to them. If i dont wear a lid, and you do, ok. if i do and you dont, ok. Just saying, My Uncle Dave has been in OVER 60 mc wrecks. most were other driver/rider eroor. That dude hasnt ever wore a lid. law or no law, he has been sideswiped and is now legless on the left side but still here to tell his tale. Anyways, back to racing..... Since This is my thread and I am a grown up, I will back away from arguing with trolls. and the lil red and green boxes, o well, hit all my posts as red, i dont care. i thought they were something else. oops. wasnt trying to harm anyones lil online reputation. oops So since we are back to racing, I have some awesome news. At least I feel it is AWESOME news. I have so far found a lether jacket and a ol racing suit. AND a new tank set is being made and for these 3 gentlemen, I am thrilled for. I knew some great things were to come and I knew I would achieve my goal this year. I have a friend who MAY have found the shifter I need and that is a big burden lifted. I cant wait to be back out on the road riding and stopping to help fellow 2 wheeled riders out. I also just finished a set of carbs I could ve used a little help form you older honda riding guys. So now I have a Harley to work on for a friend and another friend who wants to build a drag bike. His is a Kawasaki so I might need a little help coming up on that aspect. Racing my Harley will be interesting. With the engine being mild to moderate, I am thinking a qtr mile run should be somewhere around 12-14s but who knows. could run 16s or could run 11s. For the rest of this year I will be working mainly on take offs and setting the bike up. Burnouts has me a little worried. hope the brake works great. Im sure a few on here would pay to see me fail but I will get back up and keep on doing it. So as we are back to racing hopefully, I would like to know some info on making a ignition kill cord. Whats the best thing to us? kind of things. I was told that a lot of street guys will just tie a string around the plug wires but that seems like it could go bad real easily. So what yall think?-1 points

sadly man, i doubt it is. ive learned qquick, forums a re mostly trolls with nothing better to do than start some useless bs. this is a thread about racing, not helmets. lets move on pass immature and ignorant responses that have nothing to do with racing. and hey man, if you are such this cool great dude with all kinds of riding experience and knowledge, hell, lend me a lid, ill wear it just for you. if anyone was really interested, they can pm me and ill locate and send them all the info on helmets by the head neck and spine foundation. or whatever its called. Ive spent 100s of hours figthing laws to manditorize helmets. its my right to decide as i am an adult. so move on to a helmet thread or get this back to racing. its not that im mad, i am not, im irratated with ignorance. thats all-1 points
